Writing was on the wall but still I guess surprising to finally see, to a certain extent. Goes to show that top 10 QBs (including top 2) are no sure things. Even if they perform well early.

Mariotta relied on his legs, and he just isn't sturdy enough to do that regularly in the NFL. One read QB like you read about.
...is also on pace to allow close to 80 sacks - the interior is absolutely putrid. Denver got 7 without Bradley Chubb and with Von Miller only getting 0.5.
They went 9-7 and won a playoff game with Mariotta leading a dramatic comeback. Seemed like he was finally coming into his own, then they pull a regime change and it seems to have ruined him.
The only reason he's lasted this long is because of his high draft stature. Him and Winston are both busts in my opinion, Tampa just hasn't officially admitted it yet.

I don’t think the book is closed on him yet. He led that woeful franchise to three straight winning seasons and. Play off win.
Lots of people wrote off Phil Simms back in the day when he was benched for Brunner
Is there anything more competitive than the NFL? The athletic disparity between a plus player and a bottom of the roster guy is pretty slim by "normal" standards.
Then there are the mental demands. The game is fast and complicated too.
he has zero confidence and needs to be behind a line he can trust.. there are only so many hits a QB can take before he is not effective. I liked Mariotta -watch him end up in NE
I meant to say non rookie entrenched starting QB Â

I thought Mariotta was the best QB prospect post Luck. Unless you don't mind a one read mobile QB, drafting QBs a crapshoot, especially for us who can't whiteboard interview a QB.

Honestly the only guy in the last 10 years that peaked late was Alex Smith. And even then he needed to get to a QB whisperer to fully flourish
I bet u the same demise of holding onto shitty drafted qb will hit the bears. If by year 3 u don’t have a top 20 qb, you simply gotta admit defeat.
Tannehill wasn't exactly a significant upgrade himself.
Have you seen Nathan peterman before?
Ereck Flowers and Kevin White going 8-9

I've ever seen from a starting QB.
