Let me start by saying i've been having this dream on and off for over 20 years. And i cant figure out why.
There are many different versions of it, but all the same theme. I'm in college and i forget about, or don't have all of the information, about one of my classes. I cant find where it is and I forgot to drop it, and now its the end of the semester and its too late.
I had the dream again last night and in this version I didnt go to any of my classes for the entire semester and now its finals week. I dont even know where they are located.
Anyone else have this dream?
I always assume that I have this dream whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed and perhaps not acknowledging it consciously.
Almost weirder, I told my wife about it and she says she has the same dream
I used to have nightmares of driving a truck downhill with no brakes.
Then I stopped driving trucks and the dream went away. :)
I know that I've had that dream many many times. Same for a dream where I'm in the backseat of a moving car that I can't seem to control no matter how much I try.

Another, driving...but never crashing...while taking a nap. Somehow the car stays on the road.
I had the Columbine dream for decades before it happened. I could not get myself to run in the dream. Haven't had that one in a while.
Oh shit i have a similar version to that one too, but its college also. Or the one where i'm late for my tee time.
I have the tooth loss dream often.
but the most common dream I have is one where I dream I, and in some variations of the dream, various friends of mine, murder someone.
In some cases the dream goes all the way to me being in prison, in other cases I just live with the guilt but have not been through a trial. Sometimes I know the person we killed, sometimes not.
the dreams seem so real and the feelings of remorse or dread do too.
In one case the dream seemed so real a few days after it I saw one of my co-conspirators and I asked him, this might seem like a weird question but did we kill Berube, roll his body up in a carpet and throw it in the Connecticut River?
and he just looked at me and quietly walked away.
not sure what that dream is all about.
One recurring one I have a lot is being back playing either little league or HS football but either a.) my helmet is down over my eyes and I can't see anything or, b.) I can't run because it feels like I'm stuck in mud or my legs just won't move. The latter can actually be really painful as it's happening.
That, or constantly missing flights to NYC...then, if I do arrive, its a dark gloomy place of sorrow....
Also, when I was watching the Walking Dead while simultaneously getting ready to graduate college, I had all these zombie dreams.
Like, I'll just be in the car or something, and out of nowhere, I'll just start flying, uncontrollably for a while.
I have no notes, I've never gone to the class and I don't even know what room it meets in.
Another one is where I'm able to jump from great heights and as long as I brace for impact, I'm able to land with no issue ... then re-launch myself to scale a very high wall, or whatever. I'm always disappointed when I wake up. lol
Now I rarely remember dreams.
I had one a few years back that freaked me out where my parents were in cahoots with a gang of cannibals that were going to cut me up and eat me.
.
That sounds like that movie with Dennis Quaid
Quote:
...could even wake myself by falling facefirst in the dream.

however I did go unprepared for finals once during 4 yrs of college and I attributed this nightmare to it
also I'm in a strange city and am going to be late for the flight home - how too get to the airport in time? another recurring one
I find that when I'm dozing off a lot of times, I'll start to recall places from old dreams. I.e... buildings, landscapes, etc. It's weird because in some cases, part of me isn't entirely sure if it's a place I've actually been or passed through at some point, or if it's just something I constructed in my sleep and was always just part of a dream.
I've also dreamt a bunch of times that I've sort of unknowingly or unintentionally committed some sort of crime... or do something where I don't think I'll get caught. Some of these have been incredibly realistic to the point where I've woken up and had to spend a couple of minutes making sure none of it actually happened.
In a lot of these dreams, I make a run for it and I wind up in all of these random neighborhoods... hopping fences, running through yards... I just run and run and run.
This stuff has always kinda fascinated me.
A few times a year, my wife will wake to the sound of me screaming in my sleep. But it's not really screaming. The kids have heard it too and think it's hysterical - when I scream in my sleep, I sound like a special-needs deaf person yelling in a unknown foreign language.

You sure this part isnt the dream?
KIDDING!!!!

We were all in on that. Just never made it happen.
I've had this dream many times too. Sometimes I try to evade authorities, but most of the time it's the realization that I'm about to go to prison for a while and not knowing if I'll be able to handle it. I can never remember doing the crime in my dream, but I know I did it. Man do I love waking up from that one and realizing it was all bullshit.

The semester is almost over and I realize I have completely forgotten to attend one of my classes.
Anyone else have trouble figuring out if things were a dream or if they really happened? I don't mean just for a minute when you're waking up.
I'm a little concerned I didn't graduate because of that class I forgot to go to.
A long time ago, I sometimes had the similar dream, to yours:
flying between houses where I had lived, paid the rent in advance for years, but lost track of where it was, did I still have the right to be there after so long, the empty rooms, big five room apartments, slightly rundown but with lots of space, furnished, in interesting towns where I'd never really been, in great detail, each place different, so.much detail it must be a real place, where I had never been ...or had I...then flying off to another same...
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through him.
This is the critical information that you have been missing and why it continues to stir on your heart.
For if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord you shall be saved!
I also had one once that went on for like a year it felt like and in it I was a subsistence farmer somewhere in old Asia and whatever the language was I spoke it fluently with the people around me. In that dream I went to sleep, I woke up I worked the farm I drank butter tea I felt odd for a long while coming off of that one because I was immersed for a long time.
for starters its a NFT, secondly it turned into a nice conversation until you made your dickish comment. third, i dont really care that you dont like it.
For if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord you shall be saved!
Saved from what, exactly? Fires of hell? Yeah, I'll pass on any religion with a God who creates beings so imperfect he has to torture all the bad ones for eternity.
Sell it somewhere else, Chaci.
For if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord you shall be saved!
Ah, Jersey Joe on his... 5th handle?
