So....I am sure they hope he does not change agents.
How funny would that be if Coughlin worked out a deal with Ramsey....work out a trade...tell them whatever...next year, you come back...and we make you the highest paid corner(low tax Florida vs. LA tax base).....and we get 2 ones and remain contenders for near future.
They'd have to be the biggest morons in creation Â
I think they'll figure out a deal. He's signed through 2020. Otherwise it's a lock that he gets franchised if they don't have a deal in place by then. No?

Wishful thinking. Rams could franchise him

to not have worked out some sort of deal prior to trading for him.
No way they're renting him for 2 firsts.
That happens in baseball. The year the Cubs finally won a World Series, they traded with the Yankees for Chapman. Chapman as a free agent signed with the Yankees the next season. One of the players the Yankees received was Gleybar Torres.

I know - and to this day I continue to say the Cubs overpaid despite winning that championship, but baseball is different - that kind of trade, where a highly valued prospect is moved for a veteran happens often in baseball as a rental.
Giving up this much in trade for a rental in football - not sure if I can recall anyone else doing it. Mack was traded for a hefty return last season but a deal was worked out in advance and announced right after. I'm assuming the same happens here.
2 1st for a malcontent CB is a bit much, should only do that for the rare positions, like LT or ER. I'm sure he's rubbing his hands waiting for 5he likely event the Rams implode for high 1st rounder.

.
The Rams don't seem to value 1st Rd. picks like most teams.
They traded first round picks for Goff as well, and his ceiling is starting to look questionable.
He already has a new deal as well.

The value of first round picks is that you can get a on upper tier player on a cost-controlled contract.
Trading away 5 first rounders (plus) for Goff and Ramsay to pay them big bucks right out of the gate is poor cap management at best and complete dumbfuckery at worst.
Ramsey, I believe, was a top 5 pick. The Rams probably will be drafting in the mid to upper 20s. The chance of getting a Dependable stud at that slot is much much less than top 5. Ramsey also is a SURE thing. Everyone knows he is arguably the best CB in football. I doubt anyone drafter from 23-29 will be the best at their position.
Bottom line: Rams did VERY well.....plus they got a guy TODAY who will help. I’m sure every Giant fan would drool having Ramsey replace JJ and maybe even moving JJ to slot CB if we can’t trade him.
