way to go to see how these players, including Jones, develop. We see the potential, but we need to see the consistency, development and health. I'm excited, no doubt, but time will tell. Really though, with 3 first round picks and 2 in the top 20, it damn well better be one of our best draft classes.
So, these guys have played 6 games and we can rank them?
Like most people say, give a draft 2 or 3 years then evaluate.
I mean, good that our picks seem to be good players, but... who really will know how they'll end up years down the road...
At least we have been able to see these players actually play some snaps in the NFL. The REALLY ridiculous draft grades, the ones that everyone gets so emotional about, are the one published a day or two after the draft! Never ceases to amaze me how much stock people put in to those things. Almost as useless as preseason power rankings and (my "favorite") going through the damn schedule in July and predicting wins and losses. All this crap is fun to read, I guess, but its just that people get so damn invested in whats written about their teams. I remember Cleveland fans were losing their minds if anyone predicted anything less than a 10 win/playoff season.
with Aaron Ross, Steve Smith , Jay Alford, DeOssie, Boss, Michael Johnson and Ahmad Bradshaw - picking 20th overall instead of 6th, and not getting extra picks by trading one of the best WR in the league?

Kick in the nuts we had to settle for Ross with Revis in the draft. Did not like Smith, thought he was too small and slow. Thinking back probably could have picked up DeOssie in FA. Loved the Bradshaw pick, good measurables, tape and production.
A very stolid Giants-esqe draft. The wheels fell off Giants drafting strategy around the time of Wilson pick.

Really? They made solid contributions in 2007 title run, but what else? Ross was never more than mediocre. Other than (JAG) DeOssie and Bradshaw their Giant careers were either short or non-impact. Injuries and contract issues played a part of course. Hopefully this year’s draft has a more consistent impact.

What is with the “besides the super bowl...” mentality with Giants fans? It’s like when people say “outside of the Super Bowl runs, Eli didn’t do anything”
Ross, Smith, Bradshaw, Boss, Alford were all factors in winning the super bowl. If they did nothing else but help win that one super bowl, how do you not consider them a success?

They were all very good players, but I think the early indications on Lawrence and Slayton show they have higher ceilings. Connelly was trending upwards and he and Xman are probably comparable to anyone in the earlier draft.
I think Jones has demonstrated a pretty good floor and we'll see his ceiling. Baker is a wild card at this point.
Yes we picked 6th and had extra picks, but plenty of teams in similar positions have not delivered at this potential.
Totally Useless.

Not a ratings guy at all, but it seems to me you’re a Darnold guy last year and a Josh Allen (at 6) guy this year..How am I doing?
