bravado. Our pitching has limited their line-up, which ranks 1st in every freaking category, thus far. It's our freaking line-up full of swing and miss guess hitters crapping the bed.
That at bat was the game. He absolutely fucking sucks. “Leave him in because he might hit a home run” well he’s hitting 180 over two seasons also but I guess that doesn’t mean anything. Two strikes in that guy and there’s 0 chance of getting on base.
Id bet they felt they had Tanaka on the ropes and wanted more swings at him than chance getting thrown out. Wasn't Judge's best throw but they didn't know that would be the case.
Acting like this one is already over. Earlier in the season in this situation that would not have been the case. They'd win it in the 8th. Suggests that the Astros actually have gotten the Yankees' number. What's missing? The infamous Yankee bats. Again. If they don't believe in them, who will?

Agreed. The team just feels flat.
Nice pick by DJ who is our best defensive player at 3 positions
I think he had more incorrectly called strikes that inning that correct ones
Completely agree.
It's one thing if he was calling those all game but he wasn't. I always think of O'Neill when umps are inconsistent like that. If would drive him crazy when he played and still does when he's in the booth.
Unfortunately those 2 at bats may cost us the entire series
Swinging through a 91 mph fastball on the outer half that he should destroy to right field was a bad sign.
Yes, but because our hitting is not getting it done, we need your pitching to be on point. Tanaka hasn't been this inning.
I'm glad Stanton is resting up for when we need him.

pitching was good enough the last two games. we scored 3 runs
That and Ottavino.
Time to pull tanaka...?
I also despise the suddenly increasing spin rate for every Astros pitcher when they become an Astro. How'd Charlie Morton do this year?

We didn't lose a game when he was in the lineup and haven't won one since he's been out.
We are used to outspending the other teams by a good margin, let's get back to that by signing Cole this off-season.
We need to shift from the philosophy of all power and all relievers.

Just making all the little plays. Fuck I despise them.

Tanaka needs to go back out for 4th. We can't get into bp this early
They should have 100% judges has to cross body to make throw, if throw is a little up wind could affect, etc. I woulda sent

Morton was a stud this year
I stand corrected. Didn't realize his season stats. He was mediocre against the Yankees which is what I'm remembering.
So did torres
Let's hope Masa gets the same calls.

Some of these at-bats are just gutless.
Getting late early. Time to sack up. This is a winnable baseball game.

Much like the last 2.
