but it is not Cashman or Boone’s fault that they are 1 for their last 17 with RISP. Astros are getting timely hits and clutch hits, Yanks bats have gone cold against really good pitching. It happens. You could put a super team together and not sure how they’d fare against this Astros team. They are just really fucking good, and clutch.
They are [houston] ..a learning experience for yanks. Hopefully, they do in near future

They didn’t learn in 2017 or after getting steamrolled by Boston in 2018.

Honestly, it’s a bit disappointing because I always thought 2017 was the learning experience for a young squad and after that we’d run the league for a while.

Astros have a 1 and 1A, and a pretty good number 3.
Thanks for stating the obvious. And you’re wrong about the Astros. They have three ones, and you could argue Cole and Verlander are the best in baseball

Houston is just a better team. Deeper lineup, significantly better starting pitching. Yanks have a better pen (maybe), but that isn’t going to win you any 7 game series
Because he’s not. He’s a very good GM. However, he has a team built to entertain and wow us from April through September. I get it: you have to win to get to October. And we’ve certainly done that. But it’s not good enough to break through against a great team like Houston. And, whether or not they lose Cole this winter, Houston figures to not be going anywhere anytime soon. Cashman has to figure out a roster that will beat them. I don’t want to win 100-105 games again next year and lose to them in the ALCS. That’s not good enough.
Exactly how I feel. The Yanks will win another 100 next year and lose the same way. Getting Cole is just as much about pulling him away from Houston as it is improving our team. If cashman loses out there, they better figure out how to put ball in play and hit in clutch
Realize everyone is frustrated. Not sure how you blame Cash for Boone’s mistake in G2, the bats going cold, Sevy being hurt all season and Paxton should be pitching better in the playoffs. He isn’t afraid to spend intelligently. This team is being built to stay on top for a long time and will get plenty of shots at the WS over the next 3-5 years.

I agree. in 2017, I thought we were better, but inexperienced. But since then Houston rose to even greater heights
I love Didi - but - for what he wants to make and likely can get, i'd agree.
Get two more DJ's (because yes they grow on trees), and steal whomever the Astros stole from the Cardinals' system because our talent is vastly superior to the on-field performance in the ALCS.
Pry Cole away. With Verlander getting older, it shrinks Houston's window of blocking us from WS. Get rid of EE, Gardner, Sanchez if you can find a trade partner and we will be right back here but will be the favorites lol
He blows. I have been saying this for a while. Adam is rubbing his dick to the one good AB this series lol. Factia Sanchez is a losing player. Feastor famine, average defense, lazy, doesn't but in clutch. Guy is a loser. He feasts on dogshit pitching or pads his stats when game isn't close

You're just as stupid as the person who made that comment you replied to.
The catcher for Houston is batting .000 in this series, yet they're winning easily.
I know 2 years ago he was great and the Yanks will point to that when they do bring him back for 2020, but I am at wits end with him. They can do better than a guy who will hit you 35 homers but with over 200k’s and a .230 average all while being one of, if not the worst defensive catchers in the league.

Didn't their catcher lead off the inning Houston hit the three run Homer? You know the difference between the two? Houston's catcher swings at good pitches and plays good defense, he is a thumper and isn't relied on for offense. He does his job. Sanchez Ks at an alarming rate. People need to stop making excuses for this lazy bum

Fuck off dude. The guy has been shit for 2 years now.

I haven't liked him for a while so I'm biased but I would look for a trade partner. People been giving me shit on here for days now because I continue to point out his lack of an approach at the plate. For some reason he is their golden boy. Imo he is great trade bait to get more contact hitters in here
Fuck off dude. The guy has been shit for 2 years now.
He was 4th in OPS and wOBA among catchers this season. There's a 95% chance the person you replace him with isn't as good as him. Once again, he has the only hit with a man on base over the last 7 innings. Yet, you've decided he's the person you're going to bitch about incessantly. It makes you sound like a fool. Literally no one thinks he's played well this postseason, but your complaints are ridiculously over the top.
RE: Didi may look like Rod Carew on this team but he’s still an 100K Â
guy. That’s nothing for us because we have 3 200K hitters.
I don’t think he should be brought back if it means more than 3/45.
The question is, for all of you arguing about Sanchez, would you sign him to a 20M per contract? I am not so sure.
No fucking shot, then again I wanted him traded last two years while his value was higher. I'd move Torres to short. Let Didi walk. See if you can find a trade partner for Sanchez. I look for a 2B who is a contact hitter. I liked DJ at first. We need another player like him.

Postseason...
IDGAF what he does during a ridiculous long and watered down regular season. We are going to be in playoffs for next ten years. We need guys who can hit in playoffs..I rather a catcher who Bata last, plays great defense and has solid plate discipline and spend money on a stud pitcher or a solid contact hitting middle infielder

The guy replacing him wouldn’t need to be better than him for the team to be better offensively. And defensively, if they built a 4 foot wall behind the plate, it would be better than him and save the team more runs.
If he were to leave NY and say go to Detroit he will turn that team into an instant winner. He is that good. I figure he is like Torre who waited to come to the yanks to show what a great manager he was.
Mix and match. Wonder what the lineup will be tomorrow.
Yanks look worse this series than 2 years ago, which is very disappointing.
