Stubborn Gettleman should have brought him back with a swap of 7’s. Judging by this transaction, Detroit would have gone for that.

The Lions had 3 other RBs and 1 FB that were all with the team from the start of the season before they added on Perkins. By comparison, the Giants were highly negligent with stocking that position on the roster to prepare for potential injuries.

Perkins was never going to get any real playing time there unless there was an emergency. Seems like they signed an ex Packers player to replace him just as a luxury, and perhaps to contribute to special teams.

But if Gallman and Barkley are back he serves no purpose

I don't know why everyone is hating on Perkins. I remember even dj ware having some good runs as a 3rd string back.there's something about a 3rd back maybe a fresh pair of legs late in a game or that no defenses think you are really going to run with him that always makes them good to have. o yea not to mention not having to use your practce squad ,,,,

it's obvious he is either getting rid of everyone reese had and just putting rookies in and/or giving the team his stamp. Great, too bad this defense if full of rookies and jags & totally sucks ... the only time they looked decent was last week .... don't let that fool you I could have coached them that night. It was only because it was the Patriots and a bunch of jags wanted to see what they could do against them. Don't surprised if the mail it in against the cards sunday.

Patricia seems to have a thing for Reese's rejects, should hire him as GM.

hopefully they aren't as thin again as they were with both saquon and gallman out, but he is miles better than hilliman

We’ve already seen what Perkins can do. Time to try a new back.

thing about Perkins is that some of the people on this thread and others saying we should sign Perkins are the same ones complaining about having Hilliman on the practice squad because "we know what we have".

Like we don't know with Perkins?
