wasn't expecting him to miss just one game. It's great that he's out there at all, but there's no choice but to play this one by the book. At least Barkley and Engram appear ready to go.
I hope Shep is back for good next week, but I worry that one more ding this season or next could end his career.
He needs to sit the rest of the season for the sake of his career and his life in general.
I'd rather see him come back next year.
I know we're only a game out of the division somehow but I've gotta agree here. two concussions in such a short span is scary. Take time to heal up all the way and get right for next season.
Tate is somewhat a SS clone. Not many formations where you can have both him and SS in the slot, and keep EE and Barkley on the field. Something like a bunch formation is best with our personnel, or trips and EE y iso.
In other words not a huge dropoff since we have Tate.
All properly diagnosed concussions have to be taken seriously, but remember there are 3 different levels of concussions. We don't know the severity of the concussions or what impact that may (or may not) have on him, his career or his future health.
Guy's got kids and a family. Nobody wants a degenerative brain condition before they get to old age.
Unfortunately, there are some people, not a lot, but some people who just look at these guys almost as robots, not as actual living breathing human beings. Ive heard comments from a few friends who have a guy sit out of their fantasy lineup due to injury and you would think the guy was sitting out intentionally. Seems to always come down to "they are making X number of dollars, they need to get on the damn field and play".
I’m still recovering from a concussion I received in Late March Â
Taking it "slow" would mean holding him out for the rest of the season.
IMVHO, it's absurd to put any sort of timeline on concussions. It's even more absurd to believe we have any sort of grasp on how to detect or diagnose them. This NFL "protocol" framework is in its infancy and is more a faux-showing that the NFL is protecting players.
anything about patients symptoms, signs, and imaging studies.
Not all concussions are the same, and the nfl protocol seems pretty much wide, open. It s still a clinical diagnosis, but the diagnosis in a patient made twice in a season is very disturbing and warrants at least caution.

Agree. Another concussion this season and he's most likely done for.
Make him sit several weeks, minimum. I don't care how good he feels. I'll trust the doctors, but this gives me flashbacks of Al Toon.

Add me to that too. Concussions are no joke. His short and long term health are more important than this game(even if its his livelihood).
That being said, I think this upcoming offseason wouldn't be a bad time to either sign or draft his possible replacement.

Two concussions in a month is serious business.
Giants football is not worth anyone's long term health
