forcing Chapman in the game. They won't win, but Verlander saved their pen. But I like the Yankees chances if they want to get in a slugfest with lesser pitchers.
are comfortable in slugfests. I think that's what is going to happen tomorrow. Just get a lead late and bring back in Britton and Chapman and then roll the dice in Game 7. Houston shouldn't have the arms to get 9 innings with their pen.
Afraid coming on here earlier might be some sort of curse on the team. Regardless, a great and deserved win. Glad that little winless streak is over. Hope they learn how to hit better otherwise than in the first inning. On to Houston and closing it out there.
Haven't been able to see any of it, as I am camping with my kid's Cub Scout pack.
But GD, what exactly is the benefit of having Gary Sanchez in the lineup? 0 for 3 with 3 strikeouts. He's worthless.
Lot of missed catches tonight as well. He needs to sit. Romaine has hit well all year. No reason not to get him a game especially with 4 games in a row now. Sanchez could use the rest. His eye at the plate is so off.
--Green will have to open with 2 innings (1st and 2nd)
--You figure that the combination of Kahnle, Britton and Chapman can pitch the last 4 innings (6th, 7th, 8th, 9th). Kahnle only threw 22 combined pitches the last 2 nights; Britton threw 18 pitches tonight and dominated for 5 outs; Chapman retired the side on 9 pitches and he's only thrown 2 innings the entire series
--The question is who will pitch the 3rd, 4th and 5th (and possibly 2nd, if Green can't get 6 outs, or even 1st, if Green gets knocked around).
Ottavino can only go batter by batter. The moment he lets a runner on, he has to get pulled. Ottavino can also only start a clean inning in that scenario.
Then we have Happ, Loaisiga, Heller, and Cessa as bullpen guys (or in the case of Happ, a starter who wasn't good enough to get a spot in the playoff rotation. Severino has to be held back for a possible Game 7; Paxton obviously can't pitch after he threw 112 pitches tonight. I don't think Tanaka would be available either after only 1 day of rest
With the way he pitched on three days rest, bring him on with 1 day of rest
Yea need them to get on track if we r gonna have a chance
Maybe 3
Unreal, 4 runs then nothing .
Lucky
they did ok the last two games
I 100% do. Need chappy for two morrow pite tially

and the Yankees aren't. They wanted no part of the cold in NY.
they did ok the last two games
It wasn't this cold.
at this point, he can't pitch tomorrow anyway
at this point, he can't pitch tomorrow anyway
That's my thinking, as well. But looks like chappy is coming in
Chappy is better on the second night. I'd pitch him tonight so he's good for tomorrow. Hold onto to your seatbelts though. It could be exciting.

Just no walks
feel like every check swing call has gone against this series
Great game.
The Texas Two-Step!
Force a game 7

Me too. Can never be superstitious enough.
If they can just get more than 3 guys per night to hit...

I wonder why that is?

Maybe Happ throws an inning?
Gonna need Otto to bounce back.
Would have been nice to have German this series huh.
The Yanks can win a slugfest tomorrow. Then go sevy v cole game 7
I wonder why that is?
It's like the Howard Stern movie... The haters tune in longer than the fans
I wonder why that is?
Did you mean when they win?
