I can't wait till we get rid of Staal, Strome, Smith, Fast, Kreider, Skjei and Lundqvist. Those contracts are holding us back.

and that's with a very good #1 pair guy in Trouba. Tells you just how god awful the other 5 are.

It's not just the young forwards this team is waiting on it's the defense as well. We're going nowhere this season and probably next as well. Cya in 2021/22 Rangers when Staal, D'angelo, Hajek and Skjei are either gone or demoted to 3rd pair roles. Where they belong.

The good news is we have a number of quality D prospects approaching the NHL level. Can't happen too soon.

I do see Fox as an asset and part of the future on D. Major learning curve for him and too early to put too much on his shoulders right now. This season is going to be ugly on the blueline.

in Miller, Lundkvist, Zac Jones and Robertson in terms of D.

Hopefully we get another elite talent (Lafren, Byfield, Stutzle, Raymond and Holtz).

And Kravstov and Chytil seize roles.

and I think Lafrenière might wind up better than both as a prospect - some people though have Byfield catching him.

this clip of Lafrniere reminds me of a Crosby type play. No idea how he sees that D activating and puts the puck on his stick.

Crazy stat: the Caps are 9-0-1 in their last 10 against the Rangers. Just completely outclassed.

We’re not picking in the top 5. Signing panarin and trouba while paying Shattenkirk (and girardi before him) to be able to afford those guys — assured we won’t do that.

Too early to get a feel for this team - last 3 games have been ugly but who knows

and only one legit line this looks like a bottom 5 team to me.

Don't laugh, but I've heard some good things re Day at Hartford. Maybe the bulb finally has come on?

It will take some time for them to develop. They definitely need help on defense.
