And most here didn’t believe me.. Chapman is a choker! He has been ever since he left The Cubs!! Astros are just a better team overall. Way better pitching and better bats.. what a joke Chapman is.. Now it’s time to let him go. Find another closer.
opts out, he's gone. Good pitcher, but they are getting Betances back and have Britton. Don't need to sign Chapman to a long term deal.
People will overreact to this series loss. It sucks for sure, but this was a terrific season. Fun to watch, guys stepping up through all of the injuries. It hurts like hell right now, but this season is not a failure in my eyes.
Hal has to sign Cole. Doing that changes the outlook for both teams.
Damn it. Would have been easier if we just went quietly in the ninth.
Bullshit. I'd much rather they battled like they did and see DJ get that huge HR than going down quietly. They didn't quit all year and they didn't tonight either. It sucks they lost but I'm proud they battled back to tie.
hope for some changes rather then hanging on to the same high priced veterans that are now FA's. Was it worth bring CC back this year for his final tour?
I don't need Yanks to go out and out spend others for pitchers. They have a plethora of young arms in the minors so lets go with the kids.

Oh shut the fuck up. He's a good closer. He's not Mariano, no one is. You were wrong then and you're still wrong.

I will never understand why we didn't push hard for Morton. The offense was excellent and barring having pursued someone like Brantley, we were built to win but had too many players come up small in this series. Outside of DJ and Torres, none of our hitters were remotely good enough to win this series.

Yeah, lets go with the kids re: starting pitching. That's certainly worked for this franchise the past 2 decades.
It was a joy to watch this team beat the odds injury after injury. Great year. Unfortunately, the magic ran out and the odds turned against them. You just can't expect to hit 5 or 6 hrs a game in the playoffs. They have to learn how to do the little things again. We'll see if they learn anything this off-season.

Torres had a bad 2nd half of the series. He tried hitting everything out. He was swinging out of his shoes. He wasn't the only one.
He has made his career on his fastball, he has had more rest than anyone on this team and he completely lost it. Without a dominate fastball he is nothing more than a setup man now.
There is a lot to fix this offseason. Need a true Ace, 1B is a question mark, Didi is likely gone, need to hope Betances comes back strong and can be the guy to take over from Chapman. Who is our LF moving forward, hope they give Frazier a shot he needs to get his defense together this team needed his bat bad this postseason.
but otherwise he'll be back as he should be. The guy is a top notch closer. We've got problems but he sure isn't one of them. Clodsers get beat, they give up bombs. Osuna did too. It happens.
wrong with Chapmans fastball. He got beat on an awful slider.
He couldn’t throw it anywhere near the strike zone, and it was very hit table. That’s a problem. His slider and change up don’t work as well without the fastball.
GTFO
Wasn't it a slider?
Gut-wrenching loss where as bad as we hit, we were a handful of pitches from moving on.

Nah they are solid. Team is built very well.
They had plenty of opportunities to win the series

Frustrating as heck how their stars come up big and ours wilt.

It was a BS hanging slider up in the zone with Jake Marisnekszk on deck. No words.

Haha I agree I hate that they own us

well, he did.
You're batting 1.000 when it comes to mind numbing posts tonight.
Our second line relievers did not.

Can’t really complain. 100+ wins with the injuries they had, won the playoff series they were supposed to win. Lost the one to the favorite.
It will be an interesting offseason.

Meant to say worst hitters on deck.
Cole isn't returning to Houston. No reason the Yankees should let anyone outbid them.

This is going to Cash's dream offseason.
He just doesn’t seem like he has command of his pitches. Nothing wrong with his stuff but his location sucks.

Should be exciting!
