My expectation for the season was improving to 7-9 to at best 9-7 with an outside shot at a wild card. I realize this is a fantasy now, but as a fan well I guess I'm unrealistic.
I was ecstatic when they put DJ in for Eli against the Bucks feeling he gave them a mobile QB who might spark the team plus he's the future.
He did provide a spark, but is he the future? I read from posters with more football knowledge than me that it would take about 3 games to have a book on DJ. He looked very good the first 2 games but now he looks indecisive and has turned into a turnover machine. I understand until today he was playing without his supporting cast, he's a rookie but still hes not playing well.
Although they played hard against the Pats the D looked like shit today as they have most of the season. Peppers has flashed as well as Golden and Lawrence but over all the D is shit, Bettcher is a fucking joke.
Turning my focus to Shurmur. He seems like a good guy, the team plays hard for him, but he shouldn't call plays as they are suspect. Is this guy really Head coach material???
Looking at David Gettleman GM I like his drafts so far but free agency has been suspect. The O line is better but not good and the D is garbage. I realize is's only year 2 but look at other teams like San Fran, Detroit, Buffalo!
Are the NY Giants heading in the right direction!!!!????
It's been 8 yrs minus 2016 of shit ball!!!!
Sorry dudes I'm done today. Just really dejected! I'm into my whiskey now forgive my rant.
...but we're in for a long term re-build that won't really get underway until the Giants drop Pat Shurmur. And then they need to drop more than half a dozen current starters with high quality upgrades.
Been there; done that: 1964-1980.
There is no other way to spin this, it is a very bad and telling loss; you should be concerned.
A lot of people on this site need to take a breath, step away from the keyboard, and get a fricken grip.
Buffalo?? Yeah the are better this year and sucked last year but the year prior to that they were in the playoffs. So that team has plenty of talent .
I can’t remember the third team, Detroit?? There definitely better then is but have an experience QB who’s not over the hill and have been a middle of the road team.. plus they have how many wins this year. They’ll be home for the playoffs as well..
Saying that we have our issues but next year is still the make it or break year for me .. but I am starting to spit on Shurmur
Jones' struggles with fumbles though — that's a fatal flaw. And now every opponent will be looking for that opportunity. There's blood in the water. They can smell it. He's going to have to prove he can hold onto the ball or that will ruin his season. Never mind the team's season.

Or we can be realistic? This organization is shit. The poster talking about the 1960’s-1980’s is spot in. And Daniel Jones fumbles more than a toddler trying to carry his pacifier.

This.
My observations:
- we may have rushed SB back too soon. Hopefully he didn't make his injury worse but he was 75% Saquan rushing and apparently blew two Pass protections resulting in sacks.
- Tate seemed to finally get his game back, but the rest of the receiving core does not appear to get separation; Shepard is missed.
-Jones has to go through all of his reads to find someone open. The coaches should teach him to get rid of the ball sooner than looking for the last option if he is pressured.
- If this were a business and I were the manager, I would have issued a first warning to Bettcher and put Shurmur on probation after this game, despite the fact they may have been my hires.
- Both lines stunk by any measure. OL -9 sacks?!? Didn't anyone notice the same guy was getting through and set a plan to react?
- The DL may have been reading their press clippings; how do you let the same man gash your line? (see above OL comment). Isn't that a coordinator's role?
- Big Dex had a quiet game (from a TV view). He seemed to have been pushed around on those long rushes.

Not to mention. this was coming off a Thursday night game which gave this staff more time than normal to prepare.
Troubling indeed.
