Yes. There is something to be said for a head coach who is arrogant, or otherwise obnoxious. I think players respond to that. We need someone with a bit of swagger. And as much of an asshole as Rex Ryan is, I think he would be FAR superior to the last two milquetoast coaches we've had since Coughlin was let go. We need to find somebody with some fire in their belly!
but could we go the Miami Heat Pat Riley route and bring in someone who knows football, was a successful head coach and knows how to build a team as the director of football operations and have him teach a younger guy how to be a head coach? I'm not sure we need a retread.
out of the retread list, I think Josh McDaniels and McCarthy are interesting. they have warts but would be more inspiring than Shurmur.
If he leaves my favorite college team to go to my favorite nfl team I WILL STOP WATCHING FOOTBALL!!! He SUCKS! Im not sure if he wants to give up sleepovers with high school kids though
Mike McCarthy, or Bill Cowher. Any of these three coaches would be so much of an improvement that it would look like we hired the next coming of Vince Lombardi, I guarantee that.

I always think you need to have some skepticism about college coaches. I mean Nick Saban is basically a God among CFB fans and look at what happened to him in the NFL. If we're replacing Shurmur I would want an NFL coach that has actually had some success in the NFL and there are a few out there who are unemployed.

But judging from the few hires....I would not be surprised if the Giants hired Jim Schwartz.
Someone like Pagano because of Mara's stupid insistence on hiring someone "with a chip on their shoulder looking for a 2nd chance". How many times did he say this during the last coaching search.
