#1 pick Murray vs #6 Jones

Junior22 : 10/20/2019 8:54 pm
One had 1 completion the second half and 17 yards passing with zero tds and the other had over 140 yards passing and completed more than 10 passes in second half even with zero pass protection and dumb penalties along with sacked 9 times and hit 19 times.

Media says Jones is regressing and Murray is special

HAHAHAHAAHAH
Jones wasn't bad today aside from the fumbles.
81_Great_Dane : 10/20/2019 8:58 pm : link
The line was horrible and he still holds the ball too long. He looked like a rookie. Neither team tried to attack downfield much. Presumably that's a result of crummy weather and inexperience.
And one was playing with a lead the entire game
John In CO : 10/20/2019 8:58 pm : link
and with a RB who had 3 td runs over 20 yards and one.....was not. Oh, and one won......and the other did not.
Who

Won?

Number of completions in the second half

is now a meaningful stat that says who played better?

That is some ridiculous cherry picking of stats.
Kyler Murray did less to win a game than I can ever remember from a QB

Yet people here are taking it as some insult that the OP is criticizing him and are using it as an excuse to vent their frustration at DJ. I'm sorry, I'm concerned about DJ's fumbles as much as the next guy, and there were some really bad plays there but if I saw this game and didn't know the score and had no dog in the fight I'd be MUCH more impressed with Jones. At least he made more than ZERO plays in this game.

His fumbles make him bad. Turn overs and penalties kill drives

Agree.
It’s easy to get spoiled

Watching rookie qbs come in like Watson and new starters like Mahomes and just light it up. They’re outliers who came in with good teams in place. I think jones progress is more typical of rookies and some of his throws and runs really show his talent.

Time to upgrade the team around him and maybe more importantly the coaching staff

Our day will come - in the not so distant future :)

No the point of the thread is that Murray had 1 completion the whole second half. Imagine if Jones did that, even if we won. The narrative would have been Giants win sloppy game despite Jones completing 1 pass in the second half.

Quit sucking his dick already. He fumbled the ball in a critical moment and he's been doing since pre-season. He was getting smashed even in the tampa bay game. Until then he is just a rookie who never deserved to be picked at 6

Don't you have an Eli Manning fan club to run? Seriously, you're the fucking worst.

Amen, this team is not good enough to keep losing the turnover battle and expect to compete.

Lead to 14 points, didn't it...and ended a good drive, no?
My money

Must be nice to run a competent offense and be able to sit back
Brown Recluse : 10/21/2019 8:40 am : link
and throw 10 yard passes while your RB rushes for 3 TD's.

Jones has much more on his plate than Murray. Murray didn't outplay Jones today.
how fixable are the fumbles?
giants_10_88 : 10/21/2019 8:40 am : link
This isn't like Tiki or any RB where the fumbles come from how he is holding the ball. The fumbles are there because he can't sense pressure that well while in the pocket.
Well..
FatMan in Charlotte : 10/21/2019 8:41 am : link
The both only post in regards to the QB position.

Both are trolls. And Junior sole purpose for posting here has been to crap on Eli or prop up Jones to crap on Eli
Maybe i'm looking at this with rose colored glasses
Ned In Atlanta : 10/21/2019 8:43 am : link
but I'm really not concerned about jones. The turnovers are alarming I guess, but it seems like ball security is fixable. It was for Tiki. I love some of the throws he makes under duress and his mobility. I look forward to see what he's able to do with a more competent offensive play caller as well as a better offensive line.
I agree that the turnovers are fixable, but Shurmur/Shula haven't
Ira : 10/21/2019 8:55 am : link
fixed them. All in all, I think Jones and Murray were about equal in this game. Considering that Murray was the first pick and Jones the sixth, that's very good news.

No, the narrative would have been "Giants run the ball at will in second half to lock down win." Same narrative as can be written about the Cardinals this morning. You don't throw the ball in the second half of a game you are winning when you are running at will and it is raining. That should be fairly obvious if you ever watched football before.

Murray will be long gone from the NFL when Jones retires 14 years
SterlingArcher : 10/21/2019 11:25 am : link
from now.
If Jones
pjcas18 : 10/21/2019 11:39 am : link
last name was Haskins and he played that exact game he did yesterday but for the Redskins the same fans on here saying he didn't play bad, would be laughing.
