Halapio

nygfaninorlando : 10/20/2019 10:39 pm
Is not the answer at Center. Gets pushed back far to often. Watching Cowboys and Elliott run right behind Frederick and not get touched until he’s 3 or 4 yards past the line of scrimmage every time and comparing that to how often Barkley gets hit behind or at the line of scrimmage shows what a difference a good Center makes. Cowboys making the Eagles look silly and I’m sure when the Giants play the Eagles we will see their DL in our backfield all game.

Add a Center to the priority list for next season.
I don't think many on here will disagree.

We seem to be having a similar conversation weekly.

Rebuilding team is rebuilding.

Let's ask FMiC...
He dug himself in on Halapio being a plus player!

Was the only heart on our roster today.

I think you wanted to say horrible!
Halapio didn't pass the eye test last year preseason...

...and 1st two games so I was really surprised they didn't bring in any competition.

The guy was a guard in college and in the few games he played in the NFL before coming here. I think he had 8 games total in college AND the NFL at center before playing center for the Giants.

Just a massive massive mis-evaluation of him, and it has cost the team big time. Just like last year starting with Flowers at RT.
Oh if I only had a nickel for every guy who told me....

..."Pat Shurmur played center in the Big 10, I think he knows what he wants to seen in a center!"
halapio is holding them back
Torrag : 10/21/2019 1:24 am : link
He isn't holding up his end for the guys on either side of him. Both Hernandez and Zeitler are suffering from being saddled with such a zero at Center. He's destroyed what had developed into a solid inside running game last season., it's now non-existent.

Unfortunately it's but one of a handful of really poor playing time personnel decisions this staff has made. They significantly reduced our chances of having a successful start to this season. Now the season is over so maybe we'll finally see the young athletes they should have phased in over a month ago.
My evaluation of Halapio is well known

To those who disagreed, let me know when I am proven wrong...

In the mean time, I am sticking with "He Sucks". I think he is one of those cases that the team knows he is a liability, but didn't want to spend resources on that position yet. So they talk about him in grand terms to keep the media and fans from questioning their moves more than they would like.

At this point though, we know Pulley is, and as pedestrian as Pulley is, he is better than Halapio. Time to pull the plug.

sucks and Solder is the worst FA signing in recent team history. Both are minus players and Remmers is doody too. Likely the team can get away with one sub par player on the line, not three.

I thought it was the old QB who made the o line suck?
He sucks

I never got where the blind optimism came from.
I think Jones was actually better...

They seem to keep letting some of the marginal players who can help them go
Is pulley really that bad
Tuckrule : 10/21/2019 6:07 am : link
He started 16 games for San Diego. He can’t be any worse
Which makes it very odd
NikkiMac : 10/21/2019 7:31 am : link
That Shurmur keeps sending Barkley up the middle smh

He started due to injury. He is not the answer either and is probably worse but at this point I see no harm in giving him a shot.

This offseason the Giants need to make some serious changes to the offensive line. They should attempt to sign a veteran center like Ted Karras and also draft a center.
