A part of me-albeit a very small part-thinks the Jets can actually make this a game & be in a position late to steal it. With Darnold, they looked like a competent NFL team vs. Dallas. But then again, it's the Patriots. BB, TB, & that insane defense.
Go Pats!
living in Boston, the Pats getting shut out will make me feel better.
Like night & day.
Like night & day.
This.
Like night & day.
You think they may have better players to make those calls?
Patriots always get the Michael Jordan treatment with the refs

correction. the Pats getting held to 7 will make me feel better.
And on that run to the left side. WR, had the DBs shoulder pads wrapped up with his right hand...
Belichick, he can take hisins and beat yourins and take yourins and beat hisins

There was a jets jersey that took a 1/4 of the screen as he run up the middle toward Brady clear as day
Like night & day.
Play calling or execution, how can you tell?
Should be
Nah, Daniel Jones is a scrub.

Obviously execution too but the play on which they scored the TD - beautiful misdirection, kind of like what Arizona was doing to us. Do we have similar plays in our playbook?

I really don’t understand the intricacies of football well enough to recognize the difference in play calling. My question about execution or play calling was a legitimate question.
Seems to me Brady just makes the right choices regardless of what play is called. His release is so quick and he s so dam accurate
lol
😄 That s good.
Unacceptable for JOnes by Darnold is the next Peyton Manning so it’s ok.
I would be ok with this
I’m extremely jealous of them
And Brady has all day to throw.SMH
Maybe next year...
I'd give up a lifetime of beer though I'm not a big beer fan and already barely drink it because I have a low carb diet, haha.
Brady helps a lot and they get him the right players to go with his abilities. But Belichick is just better than everyone. The players execute the plays or they get executed. Kind of the NFL version of Saban and Jimmy Johnson.
A week too late!

Yes
no
The Bills look good in spite of josh Allen
LOL
And before that pass he had as many turnovers as half his yards.
Heard that, wow.
Fans are extremely predictable. No matter how much people swear they understand they have to be patient with a young QB they have zero patience.

On short rest, an awful supporting question, and at foxboro in his fourth start has the best performance as a qb against the Pat's. Yes, the fumbling and pocket awareness are real concerns rn, but some people are too harsh on him and expecting far too much so early.

Totally. The best/funniest were the calls for Manning to come back in.
Like yesterday in the rain. He has thrown well in bad weather, that's a good sign
Still 4th down though. You gotta take points, right? Darnold doesn't get this and he might fold.

Well the beat, Ralph V, asked too lol
Honestly, when some here say Jones has been awful lately it makes me cringe. Yes there are some real issues, but I see awful performances by young qbs as something like what Darnold is showing now or against Minny last year, Baker throwing for 100 yards a couple weeks ago, and Eli against Baltimore. Those are awful performances and like Eli, Jones is getting criticized and called a bust while Darnold and Mayfield are seen as the future and these performances dont count

Knock on wood, but all 5 games have been better than any game Eli played in his rookie year outside of the Steelers, Cowboys, and maybe Falcons. For God's sake, Eli looked lost as late as the 2007 regular season.
That's true.
Something worth remembering

Eli in his seventh season three 25 picks and lost 5 fumbles. And we have some saying Jones cant be an nfl qb if he continues with turnovers. It's like they forgot about young Eli.
That's why all the critics who've already made their mind up on Jones need to give it time. Who knows how any of them will turn out way to early especially for Jones.
Best post of this thread.

+100. Eli looked lost in all of those games outside of Dallas. Even in Jones' "bad" games, he's still at least competitive.
We'll see.

He actually had a decent game against the Steelers, really his first good game. I think he even outplayed Ben and put up over 30 points (maybe there was an ST TD somewhere in there). Really gave us hope.
We'll see.
Not an elite defense but the game against the Bucs was better than any game Eli played in his rookie season.
I think we got a good one. I just hope we get the right guys to grow with him. And needless to say, I don't think Shurmur is that man.
You're completely missing the point. The point is that Eli turned out fine despite looking poor early in his career.
You got it wrong. It was more saying Eli struggled with turnovers early on and turned out great. So some should remember before burying Jones so early
Alex Tanney is better in the room than Gilmore is at cb
Maybe Quenton Nelson
It would be all over ESPN. For Darnold, everyone will be like it's the Pat's defense they're unbelievable. Sam Darnold is the future dammit!!!
I haven’t really been watching, what’s this about?
I think there is a stark difference between the accuracy of Jones and Darnold. I think Jones accuracy is a different level from Darnold, arm strength is comparable.

is that if a Giants QB said he was seeing ghosts in the middle of a 4 turnover game where we were getting shutout, mass chaos would ensure on the board.

Darn old is mic’d up.
After the second INT he said on the bench he was “seeing ghosts”
They ain't better than Minshew

I think Darnold throws better on the move, but in the pocket Jones is superior

That's a very strange comment.
Jones throws a better ball than all of them I believe.

that any of Mayfield, Darnold, Rosen or Allen are clearly better than Jones.

Jones is a more accurate passer than all of them from what I’ve seen.
He’s paying them
Unbelievable.
He suffered a new 2 week after effect from moon. All physical capabilities were hindered. Also, we can apply that he has bad coaching and is going against a top defense.
Rightfully so
He's gotta stop making panic throws off his back foot
WFAN should be a fun must-listen tomorrow :-)

I wonder if he's playing with a concussion.
Forget Jones against the Pats. This is probably a worse performance than Eli against the Ravens.
That ball was no where near White.

but woof this is one of the worst performances I have ever seen. Probably the worst I've ever seen from a non-rookie QB

Add to that one comment s ok meone made about qb play being different now from then. It's way worse lol
I missed it. Was it clearly audible to tv viewers or did the announcers comment on it?
That ball was no where near White.
That's what he does all game.
Good news: Benigno went to the game.
I saw a clip of Benigno saying he expected a good performance from the Jets tonight. Should make it even funnier.
Quote:
the Jets are going to be happy with ESPN for playing that sound bite. I think it's a pretty shitty move from ESPN. If I were the Jets, I'd refuse to ever mic up a guy after that.
I missed it. Was it clearly audible to tv viewers or did the announcers comment on it?
It was clearly audible and, to remove any doubt, the announcers repeated it several times.
"BRO I AM DONE WITH THIS TEAM!!!!"
We're stuck with a phenomenal running back. We're just going to have to deal with it.
Quote:
turned this off.

Bill Belicheck: I'm about to end this man's career
Darnold: I'm seeing ghosts
Ugly
I'm sure they do, but I would bet they won't make the same mistake again. I think it's unprofessional for ESPN to air that. They need teams and players to cooperate with things like that, thats not going to help them going forward.

Tyler Palko.
If Giants were playing in this one, Belichick would have called off the dogs a while ago.
He'd have a lot of explaining to do if Brady were to get Hurt. Especially with that offensive line
I beg to differ, this is the most fun I've had watching a game since we played Tampa.
Gase's face too, lol

Hard to believe this was the offensive player of the week. I still think Darnold will be a good GB but take him out. This is hard to watch.

You've got to be kidding me with all the pro-Darnold crap. Talk about rose colored glasses. This is one of the worst QB efforts I have ever seen, and the worst QB effort this season. If I was the Jets I would be very worried about the fact I tied the future to this guy.
I wonder if there is a Jets BBI type board we could peek into to see the carnage

What a difference a week makes. Darnold played very well against Dallas. Now tonight he looks completely incompetent.

I sometimes miss sarcasm myself and try to give people the benefit of the doubt in that area. But I literally was criticizing for Daniel Jones throwing picks in a game he wasn't playing in. If you miss that sarcasm there's something wrong.
