Because the Media is a bunch of idiots.
If anyone is watching the MNF coverage, they have been going on for most of the time about the hope the Jets have and how the season is ready to get back on track.
They are 1-4!
People overreact because the talking heads overreact each week. It is a what have you done lately league. And since the Jets beat Dallas last week, the ceiling is whatever they want it to be!!!
Less running, far more turnovers, the first thing feeding the second.
And some questionable strategy late.
It reminded me of Macadoo vs the Packers.
Obvious pass downs, obvious straight back drops, fun day for opposing pass rushers
It doesn't mean all is lost, but recent headway will be lost if the approach doesn't change
Too funny...
Um.... to 1-5
He looks horrible. I'm starting to think his ceiling is much lower than expected...
I was going to make a NJ Generals football comment, but you sort of did as well.
The media is horrible, too reactionary, speaking in absolutes, and using 'clickbait' headlines. Our 6th round pick is a great example, from the we were wrong first impression, and the Danny Dimes nickname, to the few who are burying him again.

Make Pats - Jets great again!

The crux of the problem is that most shows are for entertainment and there's no care regarding fact checking or even hiring capable people.
Hell, Nate Burleson is on two different shows. Skip Bayless has a voice.
How does the average person even know who is a thoughtful content provider vs. an idiot? When no standards exist, the field is completely muddied.

when you speak of the media broadly like that you are lumping in thoughtful/analytical content providers with bottom of the barrel shock jocks like Francesca
Good point, and you are right. I like to listen to NFL radio on Sirius/XM, good football talk, yet their TV channel seems to suck. Granted, they are not all reporters, but they are given a platform for football discussion, and the pool gets diluted.

Nate Burleson is a great example. The guy acts (is told to act?) like he has a split personality. One moment he's trying to providing a perspective of a former player, and other times he's overreacting and jumping around like a clown.
I know it's still early, and they have a string of teams that can score points coming up, but it's the time of year when offenses score a lot of points. It should only get harder for teams going against NE as the weather gets uglier.
Their upcoming schedule:
vs. CLE
@ BAL
@ PHI
vs. DAL
@ HOU
vs. KC
@ CIN
vs. BUF
vs. MIA
