The problem with these new episodes is that nobody cares about any of these new characters. The truth is everyone just wants to see the old ones. Hence why they had to throw in Lando and Palpatine.
Was more memorable and still more loved than Kylo Ren, and he was barely in Episode 1. George Lucas just had better vision, even when some of it was questionable. People can bitch all they want about Midichlorins and all of that but George Lucas came up with the whole story so he can kind of sway it anywhere he wanted.
For those of us who read the leaks and were cool with them, its not Yikes.
the leaks I read were hilarious.
JJ Abrams is famous for not being able to finish stories and wasn't originally going to do the third one, but at least he had the guy who wrote the justice league movie to help.
As for Solo i enjoyed it and hopefully they will add part 2 or a series to Disney + .Its already being talked about .There is a big campaign online to get it made sort of like Kenobi .They listend to the fans

That is my biggest gripe about the new trilogy as well. I think Disney severely missed on creating any kind of connection with these new characters. Finn and Poe are complete throw aways, Finn especially served no purpose in The Last Jedi. Rey could've potentially been an interesting character, but they missed the mark during the last film. Make her a Skywalker, go for the Sith turn, do ANYTHING interesting rather than the coming of age, awe struck heroine nonsense that they went with.
Honestly the only new character I give a shit about at all is Kylo Ren. I'm going into episode 9 most interested to see how his story plays out and that's about it.
Overall I have enjoyed the new films, but mostly because it has been cool seeing the old characters again and because I love Star Wars.

if you loved Vader from the other movies, then these did the same thing for you on Kylo.
they failed with the last movie. TFA was meh to bring everyone back but TLJ derailed all momentum
The last two episodes of Rebels was better than any movie Â
Can't wait.
Sounded like Palpatine was in it?

Rogue One was awesome. It was better than everything since Empire.

until the most recent trilogy and the very forgettable Solo efforts. I'll happily wait until it comes out on Disney+.

10000% better than anything put out so far.
Solo never should have come out a few months after The Last Jedi and a few weeks after infinity war. Why they pushed it out like that is a mystery.
If you think Solo was bad, give it another shot I enjoyed it more the second time around.
