I'd be shocked if this season doesn't end with the Pats hoisting their 7th Lombardi.
Agreed and there's a part of me that's cynical enough to think BB loves the Giants so much he took it easy on us. The way they've been winning is something.
do not have the defense to stop NE. Minnesota with their run game, WR's and Oline combined with their defense could be the team to give the Pats fits.
You legit make shit up on every fucking thread. They have easily a top 5 defensive line in the league with good linebackers. They are absolutely a good defense. They go up on teams( like the cowboys want to do) and let their d line take care of the rest.
has single handedly ruined the NFL. They really need that missing piece?
Turn it off - it's over already. Nothing has changed...Patriots win it all again...save the time
I for one really like them. Ruthless. Intense. Coached by a master. They are the definition of a dynasty and the best franchise in sports. I'm so envious.
goes about his business, smart, knows the game, etc. he is a great match for the Pats.
No doubt he’ll produce for NE but he has, in 7 games, 33 catches for 313 yds and 1 TD. He’s no world beater. But again I’m sure he’ll be much more productive in NE even with the wealth of talent already there.
But he's cheap, Sanu only <4M this year and 6.5M on next year's cap which is bargain basement for a vet starter. I know we've been saying this for years but that is probably the Patriots window with Brady (I mean it has to be right??). Plus he's a former Schiano guy, versatile player and conducts himself like a pro. It's cliche to say it but he's a great fit on that team.
Brady and Bellicheck hoist that 7th Trophy with Jim Nance on stage they will ignite into dust because of the deal they did with the Devil 20 years ago... i can't wait
Seems like the perfect receiver for the Pats offense. Â
He is an incredible talent/athlete and was completely underutilized in ATL. He will quickly become one of Brady's favorite targets.
He has one year left on his current deal, so the Pats gave up a late 2nd rounder and then when he walks they will get a comp pick. BB & co aren't stupid.
in price, but New England will still have 3 third round picks in 2020. And still have 11 overall picks.
My guess is BB will make another move or two before the draft, to collect even more picks.
In other words, they continue to play chess...
Tom is still accurate, they got him someone that gets top of the NFL separation and he catches what is thrown to him. SB number 7 incoming. If I were an owner I would trade my entire draft for BB.
RE: A 2 is very steep for a 30 yr old non-superstar WR. Â
This place would go nuts if we did that. But, per usual, Belichick’s team is the outlier
If we did that, we'd be trading a pick in the 30's. When the Patriots do it, it's a pick in the 60's.
We should stop comparing ourselves to the Patriots until we can stop picking in the top 10 of every draft for a while.
Even a 3rd rounder would be too much, imv
I think you should really take into consideration the hit rate of 3rd round picks - it's not particularly high. And for late 2nd round picks, it's not great either.
Given where the Patriots are in the life cycle of their dynasty, taking the sure thing to reinforce their current roster is a slam dunk over the uncertainty of a 2nd or 3rd rounder who may not be ready to contribute until after Brady is gone. That alone makes the 2nd rounder defensible, at least for the Patriots.
That's my point about us not comparing ourselves to the Patriots. It's not just the quality of where the pick itself will fall, though that's certainly part of it; more importantly, it's about where each team's roster is relative to their needs.
The Giants are (or should be) in the mode of collecting young players who will form the foundation of a roster that has the potential to reach their prime at around the same time, then continue to infuse talent via a steady stream of quality draft picks. The Patriots are already well past that point - they have their core and have had it for years. They have the luxury of tacking on finishing pieces, and given the age of their QB and HC, can do so with a slightly more cavalier attitude about whatever that may cost them in tomorrow's talent pipeline.

Sanu seems to thrive in the short-intermediate routes that are the foundation of the Pats offense. One more weapon.
As important is his versatility. He can line up anywhere on the field, including under center. Belichick and the Erhardt-Perkins offense he has used to perfection rely on using a variety of formations to run the same route concepts.

It's already a done deal for the greatest franchise in the history of the NFL.
The Saints' defense has looked very inSaint like this year. They can actually play defense.
Turn it off - it's over already. Nothing has changed...Patriots win it all again...save the time

Gotta remember, NE's 2 is kind of like a 3

A 2nd does seem rich. Maybe BB is saying, "I'm so good, I can win with Rutgers' players!"
I've seen him throw a long TD pass, it was near perfect.

Sanu is the best non-QB thrower in the league. His QB rating is insane
You are going to trust Minny to get that far with that coach and that QB?
They are a nice team. They are not a SB team that would beat New England.
New Orleans is the most well rounded team in the NFC. Will be interesting to see how they play when Brees comes back.
Kirk Cousins vs. Bill Belichick with a terrific defense.
You go ahead and take Cousins. I'll take my chances with Bill and his people.

...while much of the league is playing checkers.

his freshman year at rutgers... probably quite youtube-able
