Why didnt the Giants ever try him at guard? I'm not saying he's playing like an all-pro, but in the games I've seen, he definitely looks ok there. It was either we were so stubborn, or we had no other real options to cover both OT positions. Either way, we should have at least tried it.
I know this is going to get a rise out of the FLowers haters (justified) but I'm just going by what I see.
Just stop.
....2 teams later, oh, I have to do this if I wanna stay in the league? ok
However, "better" is semantics as he was basically a coach-killer at Tackle...
Before the latest regime, I think it was combination of poor evaluation by management/coaching staff combined with the player's reluctance to make the move. With the new regime, he only played a couple of games before getting benched.
Just stop.
+100
And he's still really bad.
It is like people keep trying to convince the board he's playing well this year.

My guess is that is his best spot.
Not sure why folks think he's going to do better at right tackle, a position he has never played. He'll have the same technique issues over there. Guard will be easier for him.
I agree with you. I don't think there's much to gain by putting him @ RT.
RG is probably going to be his best spot. Some of the clumsy footwork and technique will be minimized a bit there.
I think Flowers will be better against DT's. He seems to struggle against DE's who are quick around the edge. He often fails to engage them and gets beat by quicks much more often than he gets beaten by strength.
He's very strong, I think if he can use his strength in smaller spaces, he'll be better off.
Obviously OG still requires athleticism and the ability to get to the second level or pull on iso's and powers - but I think Flowers will fare much better @ OG.
Fingers crossed.
Obviously it doesn't matter now - and both of our current guards are better than he is. But, I would liked to have seen NYG at least attempt it.
(I know, he's playing LG in DC... I said RG because I believe we had a bigger hole there at the time or had just signed Omameh to play LG...)

IIRC the Giants wanted to try him out at guard but he refused.
So my assumption is that he just refused.
