CB Sam Beal -- October 31, 2019

Q: How close do you feel, do you think you will be out there Monday?
A: They know I want to be out there. Iím not even thinking about it because I know itís coming, I am just waiting for my moment, Iím waiting for that text or call, just ready for that moment.

Q: They havenít told you itís going to be this day?
A: They havenít told me, they will tell me later. Iíll eventually find out. Whatever happens, happens.

Q: Do you want it to be the Cowboys game?
A: I have so much aggression, thatís the perfect team.

Q: What do you feel like you have to prove to them in the meantime?
A: You have to learn the playbook, you have to be quick, you have to be out there fast. You have to show that you can play, show that you can run. The Cowboys, they are not an easy team, so I canít go out there 50 percent or 80 percent, I have to come out there 100 percent. They want to see the real me, Iíll get there though, only a couple more days.

Q: Can you really get there, you canít really hit like they want to see you hit?
A: You donít want to be like that, Iím out there running around, thatís perfect. As long as Iím out there learning the calls, out there with the team, thatís perfect for me.

Q: You started off getting some scout team looks against Golden Tate?
A: Going against those guys just gets your feet right back. They arenít taking it easy on you, Golden told me, ďyou are going to get your feet wet again, we arenít going to take it easy on you just because you are on scout teamĒ and I appreciated that. Every time I go out there I try to work on my technique, my feet. Iím feeling good, though. Honestly, Iím feeling really good.

Q: Have you gotten team reps?
A: Yea, I have gotten a couple. They are gradually going to put me in there, but I got a couple team reps, I appreciated it.

Q: How tough has this been for you, itís been a long time?
A: As an athlete, when you love this game, when you have a passion for it and you sit out and just watch, itís not the most fun, it takes a toll on you. Just having the injury last year, but Iím in a better spot because last year helped me. It was kind of tough for me last year, but this year Iím like okay I have tunnel, I have a light, so I can be more calm and take my time. Itís always tough for any athlete.

Q: We have sort of framed this as your comeback, but this is your debut. Iím sure this is something you havenít just dreamed of for a year and a half but your whole life.
A: Yea, the good feelings kind of took it away. Now I just want to prove myself. Iíve been here, the feeling of being a rookie is out the window. I donít get butterflies anymore, Iím more of like come on Iím trying to get out there.

Q: Did you redshirt in college?
A: This is the longest I have ever sat out. This was something I had to get used to.

Q: Who helped you when you were going crazy a little bit?
A: Family, friends, I had a real friend that stayed up here most of the time I was hurt, she really helped me a lot. You want to think about your family when you are here, you do it for your family, you donít do it for yourself. You love the game, that part is for you. When you do things, and make the plays you make, you do it for your family, because they are watching. They are the ones that are important.
I don't find that particularly encouraging.

Anyone else starting to think this guy might be a bit of an operator?
Vanzetti : 10/31/2019 4:04 pm : link
Seems quite content to stay on the injured plist as long as he is getting paid

I don't see a thing wrong with any of this

Not just this, but based on that transcript I think he harms animals too.

I hope he plays and soon. We need to have a good idea on what we have with him OR not...

right now, we are playing for next year.

RD 1 LT
RD 2 OC
RD 4 FS

UFA pass rusher; maybe even a RT. I mean, we have a ton of space and veterans may get reworked too.
Canít go against Dallas if you are 80%
Vanzetti : 10/31/2019 5:29 pm : link
Gotta be 100%

Missed almost all of both training camps and his first 24 games

Marvin Austin 2
Has he been activated?
ron mexico : 10/31/2019 5:33 pm : link
Havenít seen anything
He does not need to be activated
pjcas18 : 10/31/2019 5:34 pm : link
until 4pm Monday.

There will need to be a corresponding transaction removing someone from the 53-man roster if he is activated.

Which, if there is a god in heaven will be Alex Tanney. Permanently, not that 1-day bullshit.

I know several others have mentioned it the past few days, but youíre quickly becoming a ďignore at all costsĒ type poster. Just absolutely brutal. I hope everything is ok. But your takes been abysmal lately.

Well, wouldn't we need him to play to actually find that out? That's kind of the idea.

Gettleman burned a 3rd rounder to get this guy in the supplemental draft, if he's healthy, he better be active and he better play.

Otherwise what the heck are we doing?

I didnít know I posted enough to have a reputation one way or another, especially since about 70% of my posts are attempts at humor
I too was disappointed in his interview
5BowlsSoon : 10/31/2019 7:03 pm : link
I guess I expected more. I think he has been practicing for two weeks so I guess I was expecting to read he is playing at 100% . I know they donít hit in practice.

I hope he is activated this week. He canít be that bad, could he?

Riiiiight. Humor. Was this post meant as humor? Because if so, your humor sucks. What about this doozy from the Beal thread, with replies from other posters on your hot take...

He is pretty bad

He might get better but right now does not look like a good draft pick

montanagiant replied:
ďYou seriously have had two of the most ridiculous takes on today's game. First, you claimed Barkley sucked because a blitzing DB ran over him (He still made the block) while ignoring the plays such as getting 4 yards for a first while fighting though 3 Lions and now you're claiming Baker is bad when he played extremely well today and laid some serious woodĒ

Joey in VA replied:
ďGod help him he's just not very bright. Football just isn't his game but he thinks it is.Ē

So, I guess other people are missing your humor as well?
Sorry

If you want to get back on BBIís good graces, start posting some positive comments as well to go along with the often negative ones You make that stick out. And if I may.....casting Saquon in a negative light is not cool, mate.

Saquon canít pass block. Probably because he was never asked to do it.

But it has a huge negative effect on the passing game because other teams are blitzing like crazy because they know he canít pick up blitzes.

Saquon is not above criticism. He is s great talent but he has a huge hole in his game.
I agree Saquon is not above criticism
WillieYoung : 11/1/2019 10:11 am : link
but I am personally shocked at the issues he has had with blitz pick-up recently. I thought he blocked well last year. it could be we're seeing kitchen sink blitzes this year against the rookie QB that he's not used to and that he didn't see last year. I don't expect his troubles with blitz pick-up to continue
