They really should give Gates or Slade a shot at RT or LT because both of the starters are embarrassing. At this rate I would rather just cut Solder and take the 13.5 Million dead cap hit.
cut Solder at the end of the year. He should have been traded for whatever we could have gotten, unless we couldn't do it for cap reasons. Terrible signing by DG. He was only signed because they erroneously thought Eli had a few good years left, based on some meaningless games at the end of 2017. It was painfully obvious even then that Eli was done. He couldn't move and extend plays.
As for right now, I'd likely bench Solder for Gates. At a minimum, I'd bench Remmers for Gages, Slade, or Smith, and help Solder with a TE or Penny on a regular basis.
Instead of staying put and picking an offensive lineman is just one of many gaffes made by this GM. Does Baker look like a first round corner to anyone? He plays decent man coverage, gets lost in zones, and can't tackle.
Or maybe he'll do us (and himself) a favor and retire
Highest paid offensive lineman in the National Football League, ladies and gentlemen!

Well he was until he wasn't. Inflation rules!
But hey, by that point it'll be 2030 and they'll have switched to robot players. And that's awesome, because we know how tech savvy the Giants are:
