I'm sure it will get better but this was bad by DJ. He couldn't even get through garbage time. I know the OL sucks. There are plenty of excuses. But he has to play a bit better and start improving. Too many fumbles, not enough ability to stick mid range throws, and the end was a clown show. This game was a bad sign. I believe he will improve... but I do not know that this kid is the answer.
And if you are being honest, you do not KNOW it yet either.
yea we bnever fixed a fumbler ever....remember tiki?

The guy is a fumbler plain and simple. He took care to wrap the ball up with both arms and still fumbled it. I doubt that can be fixed.
Not the same at all Tiki was actually holding the ball incorrectly

In his defense, his coach, who I thought would really start to use his playbook to utilize Jones's full skills, has apparently forgotten the skills Jones has.
This entire season is just another disaster.
well he's all we got.. he's supposed to be the future. we stick with him for the next year or two.. that's just the way it is.
Hell, Dave Brown looked better
More Pocket awareness and core strength should resolve the fumbling.
The INT is defense awareness
I have seen some nice things (personality, courage, etc) and some not so nice things (TO's, tardy progressions, etc) but I haven't seen anything that as really got my attention/got me out of my seat. He looks middle of the pack by NFL standards. MY fear is he is just good enough that we don't cut loose early but not bad enough to be dropped. Andy Dalton/Tannehill territory.
Hell, Dave Brown looked better
LOL..Ponder couldn't sniff his jockstrap.

Absolutely

Just pure upper body strength period. He fumbles a lot for a guy that keeps two hands on the ball and that first one he had the ball pretty well protected. He's in the NFL now against grown men, he's going to have to get stronger, especially if he wants to be a guy that toes the line holding the ball or running.
Ball security, which I don't currently think is his biggest problem. Not much you can do about the 2nd fumble. The first, it looks like he covered the ball up, Cowboys' defender was able to get it out on the hit.
But he has other problems...trying to force it to his first read too often when it's not there. He has to go through his progressions and do it very quickly.
Holding the ball a bit too long.
And not feeling the pressure, particularly from the blindside but in general, he needs to understand that he is going to have to use his legs to buy more time, or he's got to go through the progressions faster. But a couple of times he's not recognizing the corner blitz from the blind side, or really pressure from that side in general, and he's getting sacked.
The game has to speed up for him. I saw some improvement last week but this week he really looked like a rookie. He's got to get better at some point.

Because I said Dave Brown was better. Yeah Ok, at least Jones can actually throw a spiral in New Jersey winds. I’ll give him that.

No, it's because your take is one of the most idiotic ones on this board
Currently Jones isn’t good. Just like Baker Mayfield isn’t good. Or Sam Darnold.
But we are quick to rip them bc they aren’t our QB.
In response to your question - yes. Eli’s entire career was dissected after every game.

Actually Ponder lead the Vikes to a playoff appearance , Jones still has a long way to go before even reaching that weak milestone. Granted he had Peterson running wild but we have Barkley dont we?
Because some fans will always overreact to the last game, play they saw, good bad, or fair. It s why those types of reactions should not be taken as legitimate observations.
last fumble - knew Giants had to throw the ball, dpespeation play.
Ball security is an issue - he'll fix it

They're not in their rookie seasons.
And he kept repeating that statement all night long.
And Dave Brown was better? Give me a fucking break.
I just don't want to David Carr him. He seems like a tough kid that will hang in there.
Last year everyone thought Darnold, Trubisky, and Mayfield were the future of the NFL. They may still be and they may not be. But they're in their second season and we still don't know. Jones has played about half a season so far.
Step off the ledge and take a breath. This process is going to take time and Daniel Jones isn't going anywhere for at least 2 more seasons.
It is not. That last play was not on him.

That was his second season not his rookie one and he never even played in that playoff loss. The next season (his 3rd) he went 2-6-1 and was benched. In 2014 he was the 3rd string QB.
Last night, 28 yards on 14 carries and while he had 67 yards on 6 catches, 65 of those was on one play, so the others were 5 for 2 yards.
So, should we move on from him too?
I’m sure you are fighting off Sheppard too. 4 games inactive....dump him too, right?
Is there anyone on the defense you would keep? It sounds like based on your standard maybe the entire 11 should be cast off.
Oh, and Rojas missed another extra point.....dump him too, right?
