This is just a general question for those of you in the marketing/legal space or with information in this area. A former colleague of mine is with a southeastern law firm (only in one state, but multiple offices) and they are looking to bring in a marketing director. Someone to run social media accounts, handle PR releases, run their website, set up speaking engagements, help with applications for attorney honorariums, etc. With our firm, we have always had someone in-house handle this, so I'm not sure where to suggest her to look to find such a candidate for her firm. Obviously there are the indeed.com's, headhunters, staffing agencies and the like. But what other sources might there be out there to find candidates...maybe those early in their careers or someone qualified in another space who may be able to make the jump to law firm marketing? Welcome any ideas. Thanks.

Don’t limit the search to current legal marketers. Sales people tired of the cut throat part of sales could fit well, especially for a small firm that may need diverse skills. I once recommended a person who tired of selling medical equipment, for a more traditional marketing role promoting interactive conferencing. She did great.

Ivan- I like that line of thinking. Thanks for posting.
