I don't think the Giants will be bad enough for him to be within reach.
So yeah, if I were an NFL team I wouldn't touch this guy in the first 9 picks...
Wait. You think we are picking #10? That would imply that we are the best of the bottom third of the league. I think a more realistic take is that we hope some QB needy teams position themselves ahead of us so that we can take him at #4-6.

We're at 6 right now. With the lowest SOS of any team in the top 15. Probably a better chance we pick top 4 than picking 10.
If they can pull out a loss on Sunday they have a real shot at a top 3 pick. The IR parade will begin with a loss. It will probably take a loss to either Miami or Washington if not both too. But they can do it with this coaching staff.

I hate the NCAA. They make these kids look like criminals or a bad person for doing something smart and hiring an agent. Why would he drop in the draft for this? You think GMs would care that he got representation when hes about to be a top 5 pick in the draft? He just violated another stupid rule set by the NCAA. This is like getting suspended for getting paid for autograph signings

That 4-6 range is where I think the Giants end up. There is stiff competition to be one of the top 3 worst teams in the league. I know our Giants are up for the challenge so gave them the cushion of picking #4. But there is no way that we end up picking #10.

I'd bet good money they're top 4, but I'd like a little room if there's a good trade down opportunity or if there's more of a logjam on the shitshow highway than currently forecasted.
You want people to go to jail for getting paid for their services? Like we don't have enough people in jail as it is. Just because the NCAA has asinine rules doesn't mean it should be illegal. And there is no way he drops, nobody gives a shit he took money from an agent.

There is little doubt that we face stiff competition for being the worst of the worst. I think 4 is our ceiling. I don't discount the possibility of a pileup on the shitshow highway. I can't see DG trading down. If we are in range for blue chip players, DG is taking one.
”It should be noted that many sources cited are optimistic that Young will regain his eligibility before the year is up. That would lead many to believe that there is a gray area here, but with only four games remaining, there’s not a lot of time to sort it all out.”
This part sounds fairly bullish.
If I’m Young I shut it down, regardless. He’s going #1. Why risk injury at this point? Way too much at stake...
depending on the thirst for QBs. there are some good ones coming out.
it's not crazy that we could be in position to get him. my bet is we miss him by 1 spot.
Based on these new, enlightening “character concerns”, DG will pass on him anyways and take some random under the radar fullback that exhibits behavior much more aligned with the Giants way.

Hey Zeke - reading comprehension is important- the Agent and who said jail, he should be fined. They know it is not allowed(and IIRC and agent lost his license for doing this a few years back). It is tantamount to a bribe or quid pro quo...I'll give you cash if you remember me after the season.
Does not matter after this year, anyway.
I'm just pissed that agents keep tampering with kids they know they know they are not suppose to.
Football, probably good for Chase Young. He will not risk injury and keep his draft stock. I would love to add this kid to our team but we may be out of reach. I could see Washington pouncing on him.
as far as I know. He is essentially loaning him money is the way I understand it.
Actually, he very well may be doing something illegal. In many states (no idea about Ohio specifically), it is illegal for agents to pay players to sign with them. I don't know if this is the instance section was referring to, but a few years ago an agent pled guilty to having paid some UNC football players (including our old friend Marvin Austin) to sign with him. It was "athlete-agent inducement", which violates NC law. (Regarding jail specifically, he didn't serve any time, but he was given a suspended sentence).
he's one of my top 3 targets for this Draft right now, but it's still early. Have to do the character work and watch every scrap of interview film I can find.

I was going to say losing to Miami would take some doing, but the Jets just managed it.
Unfortunately, I don't think the Giants will be trying to tank, for the simple reason that Shurmur will be trying to hang on to his job.
What law do you believe the agents are breaking that would require they be arrested? It's not good conduct by the agent, but I don't believe there is any state/federal law against giving players money.

but congress can take money from lobbyists? Tremendous system we have. So you can buy influence in shit that actually affects countless amount of people for better or worse, but something that affects nobody is illegal. Makes sense.
Every single NFL team is hoping this will make him drop to them. Which basically tells you he's most likely going either #1 or #2 overall (a la Bosa last year). Book it.
on one of the elite talents at our main positions of need, simply because that would seem to be consistent with the history of this franchise (except for getting LT but that's when we were picking #2).
Everyone on here seems to want either Young or Thomas, so watch us pick #5 and it will go some order of Tua, Herbert, Young, Thomas, and then we'll get whoever is left (not saying it won't be a decent player of course but we NEED an elite OL and an elite pass rusher and one of those 2 dudes is the perfect fit, unfortunately it really does look like we're just not quite bad enough to get one of them (not trying to be negative it just really looks that way from where I'm sitting).
Keeps him healthy for the NFL!
Puts a dent in OSU's title run.
So yeah, if I were an NFL team I wouldn't touch this guy in the first 9 picks...
Yes, keeps him fresh for the draft..

Because it's against NCAA rules, but not against the law.
Lets go Jets!!!
J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!

Which means we'd better have our to priority in the draft in getting the best T.
Miami going QB I damn sure don't want
the Skins getting Young that defense would be
over the top good !
