NFL Network analyst and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has emerged as a candidate for the Florida St. head coaching job, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. A fascinating situation that could unfold.
Somebody mentioned Bobby Stoops the other day, which would make a lot more sense.
They will attract someone with proper credentials.
That would be their best option IMO. Leach loves turning programs around. He would have them challenging Clemson within three seasons.

Because, well, he is Prime Time...has he ever coached at any level?
Yes he coaches in high school
Thanks Big Fred, just looked it up. He appears to be an OC for a HS where both of his sons play. That would be quite the leap to become a HC in the ACC, no?
This was my thinking as well. He'd probably be in way over his head as a HC, but I would think he could be an awesome recruiter for FSU.
I think he coaches his son's high school team in Texas...??
Yeah.....No, Ray Lewis would never work for FSU!!
It does appear a Bachelors Degree is the minimum requirement. That’s interesting. I had no idea

My first concern re: this fit would be Is Deion willing to work those 14-16 hour days required of coaches? Huge lifestyle change for him

Being a HC at the college level requires less of a commitment in terms of hours. Spurrier sure as hell wasn't putting in 14-16 hour days. That's one of the reasons why he left the NFL to go back to the college ranks.
Could be wrong, doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would want or need to do that
FSU isn't hiring Deion Sanders as their head football coach nor would they consider it. They currently have a search firm and the rumors are that the leading candidates are Mark Stoops, P.J. Fleck, Matt Campbell, Mike Norvell, and Brett Venables. There is also a rumor that Bob Stoops is possible, but I don't believe those.
