The defense.
Stop bullshitting guys. Its the defense and the fact that we are always behind in games and forced to throw the ball. Sure we take 10 sacks a game, but thats because we are always in predictable situations. Why are we in those situations ?

Perhaps is was keeping jones in the pocket instead of rolling out a mobile QB to help him deal with the constantly collapsing pocket ? Or perhaps help the LT who came in to replace soldier with some blocking help instead of leaving him on an island ?
Oh i know it must have been deciding to punt on 4th down with 2:40 left on the clock conceding defeat instead of giving your team 2 final real shot and either convert a 4th down or maybe you get a defensive penalty ?

his play calling sucks. but its not the culprit or the biggest contributor to losing. It's the defense that's stopping this team from winning.
We made Darnold look like an average QB.

It's both . I dont know why it has to be 1 one or the other
i still think gettleman has made good moves to get us in the right direction. he needs to knock it out the park with this FA(although, temper expectations we're not that loaded with cap room) and the draft.
I think he would be best served in more under center offense. Build a strong line and running game with play action is the best route I would hope they work towards. He can add the element of boots, waggles from this look.

Right with you there man. During a game break when they showed Mahomes to Mecole td, Mecole literally ran right through the defense. So should we dismiss Mahomes stats now too.

I do agree that there are moments in many of these losses where a more logical or innovative or smart playcall might make a big difference, but to me there are bigger more wide spread concerns that one or two playcalls wont or cant fix.
Mara hired an uninspiring HC. And thats being kind. You can spin this anyway you want but no excuse making is going to hide Shurmurs or this teams short comings.
