I didn’t know how they would be and I did think we were getting a much better play caller than we have. I had hope that things would be better; however I was certain our oline would be fixed. Between Gettleman’s history of finding oline and Shurmur actually having been one, I thought this would be fixed. I was excited when Gettleman said it was a priority. How are they so bad?
How is the coaching this bad? This is the biggest area of failure in my opinion.
As much as I would want Belicheck, I would equally want his oline coach.
So I thought we would be a ten win team that was a tough out but never challenged for a championship
Boy, was I wrong
I don't think it's this clear. Other than the Lauletta pick, the 2 drafts DG has put together seem to be pretty good, including Hernandez at G, and Connely at LB, 2 positions the Giants have had many problems with in the past. His FA decisions have not been good, but to say the scouting is "not fixed" seems like a significant over reaction.

the scouting was never fixed - so why would the players selected get any better?

Really? Has BJ Hill done much? What about Lorenzo Carter? They just seem like JAG's at best. No better than what we've seen over the past 10 years or so.
We may end up needing another receiver. All of us know we need help on the edge we need help it inside linebacker and we need at least one safety. And at this rate we’re going to need a new place kicker.
Our playcalling is pretty bad but the limitation of talent each Sunday makes it harder. Game management is another issue. Our defense is roadkill
sure, you can blame gettleman for signing remmers halapio and solder in the first place (and of those, halapio is the worst), but injuries happen. this team barely has any depth at any position, OL is no exception
Theres no quick fix out of this hole. Theyre gonna have to have a draft and free agency perfection run like on 05 when they added pierce, plax, mckenzie, tuck, webster and brandon to get this franchise back to the pt where they can compete w playoff caliber teams. Until that mass talent Influx occurs This team is at least two yrs aways and thats assuming jones is good which is at best a coin flip. Think it cant get worse? It can.
The biggest problem facing DG right now is it looks like he got the head coach wrong. That's really bad because we should have a much more solid talent base following the Draft and free agency going into 2020. I don't trust shurmur to get the positive momentum to turn the corner no matter what he's given to work with on game day. He's a bad head coach.
That's bad work.
