Hard to gauge against the Giants. Is Darnold good? is the D terrible? What does it tell us when he completes a pass.
He made some plays. Made some very nice throws and decisions under duress. No turnovers, which is a big thing for him. He didn't have a running game either but found ways to keep drives alive.
He’s in basically the same situation as Jones though, shitty team around him, shitty coach. He could be good but there are not many young QBs who can elevate an awful franchise.
He did very well was move around in the pocket and throw on the run. Would like to see more of that from Jones. I think Jones is a much better passer from the pocket, however.

Agreed. But Barkley plus Jones is obviously greater than Darnold.
b) It drives me crazy when people say Jones played against a shitty defense. This early on in their careers, it's impressive if you have a good game against anyone.
That said he made good plays in the beginning and end and didn't do shit in the middle though that's in part due to his shit team. B/B+ game.
Thomas is washed up, I'll take Tate over Crowder,Shepard over Anderson, and Engram with Barkley out of the backfield. It's argumentative who is really better but the Jets don't overwhelm anyone at the skill positions.
Most people are shoehorning both QBs performances Â
into their already-established narratives. We don't use all available evidence to come to a conclusion. We filter the evidence to support our immutable opinions.
It's one of modern mans most loathsome traits. And it's fucking rampant here.
on he move, especially to his right. And he didn't appear to be looking at the rush or feeling ghosts. So the Jets have to feel better after two horrible weeks for Darnold...

Even if you believe Jones is better than Darnold, at least today Barkley plus Jones was not greater than Darnold.
I thought he was fine. Played well under pressure. Â
He wasn't the difference but managed the game well. I'm sure he was happy after the way he's played lately. Ironically this always seems to happen to Giants with struggling and backup QB's. Between the two at this point I'll take Jones but who knows how it will go a few years from now.

You nailed it j rud, perfectly
Nope, very average. Nothing today changed my opinion of him being Â
Yes, Darnold played well today. He made several good throws under duress and made several plays with his legs.
It’s a wonderful narrative for the Giants if Darnold is a bust, but he isn’t. Still way too early for any conclusions about either Darnold or Jones. Both are playing in bad organizations with little talent around them.

Seemed to avoid the rush without putting the ball in harms way. Took advantage of numerous "over"-rushes by Golden. And when he got into position to be aggressive with throws he took advantage of our rookie CB.
He did a nice job and got the W...
he didn't gift the giants 7 points like jones did. Â
you know, the number of points the giants lost by? he also converted a big third down as he was about to be sacked.
This is just asinine. Look at the first and second round draft picks for the Giants from 2018 on that play. They were both physically manhandled, but yeah, let's spout nonsense about Jones gifting the Jets points.

Your post is nonsense. Jones played well but are you that thick that you can't understand that it wasn't Hernandez or Barkley that got the ball ripped out of his hands? It wasn't even a fumble. Jones didn't even give the defense a chance. Homerism from some of you knows no bounds.
Here's a news flash for you" Joens is not obligated to fumble or get the ball ripped out of his hands over 1 time per game.

Jones has zero pocket awareness.
I'm a lot more worried about DJ than Sam Darnold.
We could end up with a journeyman QB if he doesn't clean up the fumbling.

Did he throw for 300+ yards and 4 TDs like our guy? You ignore the good to focus only on the bad. Par for the course for this fanbase.
Really? Crowder, Anderson, and Thomas are worse than our receivers...how so?

I also like Jones better.
That's definitely not accurate.

+2.
He did a nice job and got the W...
His RB actually picked up his blocking assignments
Oh yeah, and he won. Not that something like that matters around here.
What the hell was not to like???

ANd for any GMAN fan knocking DJ-- you're nuts.
With that said it's okay to pick a little with each player.

Who? Their OL is as bad as ours. Bell has had a putrid year. Am I supposed to be confusing their receivers for Julio, Ridley, and Hooper?
And Gase is a disaster.
So where is this “more around him”?
Giants sacked him, got pressure - but their failure to maintain rushing lane discipline and failure to contain him made him look better than he is,
