one of my best buddies who is a die hard texted me the other day, as a joke, and said "What's McAdoo up to these days?"
I laughed, and then realized that Ben McAdoo went 11-5 and had a great gameplan against the Packers, if our receivers showed up that day it might have been a different outcome.
Pat Shurmur hasn't sniffed the success that Ben McAdoo had here.....from everything in terms of winning, preparation, game management, situational play calling, getting our studs the ball....Ben McAdoo was worlds better than Pat Shurmur. And that is really all you need to know.
The owners have really botched this whole "head coach of the New York Giants" thing dating back to the Coughlin resignation. Say all you want about Reese/Gettleman, etc....but on gamedays the buck stops with the coach, and the coaching has been absolutely abysmal.
Hopefully they’ll get rid of Shurmur on December 30th
And, sadly, I long for McAdoo right about now. He’ll, I’d settle for the mini-me version of him over this ass clown Shurmer.

Hell, not he’ll.
It's worth noting that John Mara was in all the interviews back in 2004 and probably had close to the same level of involvement with the hiring of Coughlin that he did with the hiring of McAdoo and Shurmur. He was also wise enough to retain Coughlin when everybody was calling for his head. So it's not like he can't make a good decision; he just badly missed on the last two (and arguably on the GM hire as well, which puts the team into a very bad hole).
Don't let time change facts, McAdoo had NO ability to lead men, and very little to no interest in the defense. Along with his simple offense, that is not the equation of a good HC.
