Those were some fun threads. Remember the outrage that ESPN had us listed as the second worst team in the league in their initial power rankings? One poster actually said there needed to be "consequences for the media" saying we suck. CONSEQUENCES!
Guess what.....the national media was 100% correct in their assessment of this team.
I do remember that one “consequences” thread by one poster, of course that poster is in the loud minority I previously mentioned.
If you ve ever checked out a game thread, you d have to agree
Watch out for the Manning revenge tour. The underrated offensive weapons. The upgraded offensive line. The MVP Barkley season.
Those posts were fun
And it drove even posters here, many whom are media parrots, to unhinged levels.
Conspiracy? No. Irresponsible "journalism"? Yes.

Dude, the impetus for that thread wasn't even something someone said about Daniel Jones. It was a Giants-Jets comparison.
Also, saying other people are "unhinged" in response to being called out on a thread where you basically advocated for civil unrest in response to media criticism of the (now 2-8) football Giants, is pretty rich. Just take the "L" and move on.
I think the rah-rahs need to check themselves or be put in check.

Sure. BBI is a much better place when posters have a pitchfork in one hand and a "How to GM for Dummies" book in the other hand.
The number of future NFL GM's on BBI grows by the day.....

I hear ya, BBI is just better place when the loud minority shows up to blast anyone who dare suggests the giants are a dysfunctional franchise and all posters fall in line. Gotta love 49-73 since 46, the franchise must be doing something right with glowing numbers like that!!

Maybe it will start to shrink when the team has a competent one.

Yeah, not all of us can be as smart as you and Dave Gettleman (but I repeat myself).
We should all just wait for Gettlemans plan to all come together in 2024

You didn’t hear, the plan was always to draft the more mobile Peyton Manning and bigger Barry Sanders. It’s a trick he kept away from every other GM. Shhh, don’t tell anyone.

irony is the word minority in here:

Lax - nobody here is saying they are happy with the Giants performance. No one here has taken any bows for the successful rebuild or defended the the results on the field. It's just that every Giants decision over the last two years from sticking with Eli Manning, to drafting Saquon Barkley, to resigning Sterling Shepard has been the correct one. No one is defending anything that happens on the field. Let's be perfectly clear about that. Just try not to criticize any of the major decisions or key players on the team, when making your point that the results are unacceptable.
People can hate on espn all you want but they were right. The Giants are bottom feeders. The giants did not use that as motivation to kick ass this year en route to 10-6. They can’t block and they can’t defend shit. The acquired talent on the line and on defense have been massive disappointments.

Yes, it appears your band of never-ending Defenders are shrinking in numbers as of late...

It was about the Daniel Jones pick. At least the one I'm remembering, because I wrote it. Check the date. They were going apesh-t over the Jones pick.
Link - ( New Window )
But the thread you posted above was equally bizarre in that you ranted at “the media” who needed to be put in check when
1. Many media outlets just reported on the pick and didn’t provide analysis or opinions.
2. Some analysts on media channels supported the pick
Any article, tv show or tweet (or BBI poster) that didn't portray the NY Giants as an up-and-coming team on the rise was blasted and criticized as having an alternative agenda. "If you couldn't see how much better the Giants were in Aug 2019 under Gettleman versus the previous years than you just don't know football" were the comments.
The lack of objectivity on here got so bad that even positive articles and comments made about how good Daniel Jones was performing in preseason games were portrayed as not being measured because they also noted positives about the other rookie QBs, or taken as slams against Eli Manning in comparison.
If you trace those BBI conspiracy posts back, you will find their devices logged in somewhere behind the fence on a grassy knoll in Dallas, TX...

I posted in reference to the Daniel Jones pick. I stand by it. Especially against the take that taking Jones over Haskins was racist. That is irresponsible journalism and at the crux of my argument.
Sure, I hoped that. It didn't. I was wrong. I have no problem saying I was wrong and it didn't happen.
But I don't regret hoping it, or posting it. It just didn't work out that way.

Yep, just like I was wrong in suggesting the NY Giants were going to shed themselves of Eli several years ago because he wasn't ever going to be a winning QB for them anymore.

I am I supposed to be ashamed?
What is the point of this thread?

Another thread about how the relentless media criticism would fuel the Giants and cause them to kick ass this year.

Then I'll just agree to disagree. The reaction was over the top.
Arc was so irate he promised to never post on BBI again if the Giants finished 31st in the league this year.

They certainly are in the midst of a rebuild, given the amount of overall roster turnover as compared to two years ago, but those two players aren't what signifies it.
they were the leadership of the defense .. now Defense has no-one but jackrabbit
you might think Landon Collins was not worth the contract but he was a leader of defense .. it is intangible that was not replaced this year
Antoine Bethea disagrees with you.
