This is our biggest problem. Gettleman needs to fix this. Start by hiring a OL coach.

OL continues to be our biggest problem compounded by poor offensive game plan. We never run with power and it is getting old.

When Barkley was healthy Shurmur couldn't pull him off the field often enough, now that he's injured he can't seem to get enough Barkley. The guy is just a monumentally bad coach.

But they weren’t a lot better with all the regulars.

Why do we telegraph our runs but at the same time run motion as deception that nobody believes. Why is Barkley not be run on sweeps and quick hitters more? Why isn't Gallman in more to help change up the nature of our runs?

were the only team in the NFL that started the same 5 OL every game this year. Didn't help the first 9 weeks.

Is hesitant and needs to run North/South. A real running back would have gained yards yesterday...or so I heard on BBI.

is the right guy to fix the OL? He took over an awful OL, and after 2 years, it hasn't gotten any better. The moves made this offseason are going to be stuck to the team for the next 4-5 years.

We need to be sure we have the right GM in place during this critical period.

3 bad OL starters, it isn't all that surprising that the backup were even worse.

Yeah all two of our normal starters were awful against the NFL's #6 rated run defense coming into the game. Haha.

Yeah we aren't good up front. We all know that already.

it with the injuries, an already poor OL having to replace three starters and a RB obviously not looking right. Let’s see if the bye gives Barkley to heal up. Still makes no sense they don’t try to get him passes out in space, and not just in the flats with three defenders sitting there.

Robert Turner Jr - is rbs coach at 49ers and was w shanny Jr at Falcons before that. 24 years in coaching .

Chris Morgan is at Falcons as the OL coach and I believe was with shanny there prior to the move to 9ers.

This is a rational system that blends run and pass.

Maybe Chris as OC and Robert at quality control or assistant HC.

Let them choose and direct the new OL coach and draft one more rb to fit.

looked pretty similarly shitty with Pulley, Gates and Thomas.

. Plus they hire and direct the rb coach as well.

If shurms willing to let them run the show and build his pass game into their system let him stay.

But he doesn't seem like he would.

jones holds onto the ball longer than almost any quarterback in the league, at least in the games that i watch. that doesn't help. he also can't seem to sense pressure and slide/move accordingly to buy extra time, despite being touted as mobile. that doesn't help either. barkely is obviously not right, and probably shouldn't be on the field. that isn't helping either.

watch how quick most other quarterbacks get rid of the ball. watch what happens when they don't. whether that is squarely on jones, or whether it is on the overall design of the plays in shurmur's offense is the only question.

it's sad that this line appears much worse than the 2nd half of last year. I don't know how that is possible. Shurmur may eventually have a winning team, but I'm confident in saying he isn't a good coach at this point. I expected a losing season. I expected 6-10, but I thought there would be improvement and more competitive. We actually have a worse team this year imo.
