The 49ers may consider walking away from Garoppolo after this season. He has an out in his deal that makes it cheap - they can do better than him.
Cam? Winston? He’s having a terrible night and has been mind boggingly stubborn in not taking what the defense is giving him... but coming off a 4 TD game, 8-0, and missing Kittle and Sanders. Bourne Pettis and Goodwin are excrement. I’d be leaning on Coleman and even their TE more - Hollister is making a difference for Seattle
I think they've already got the guy. Nick Mullens was a 8+ YPA guy last year.
Mullens sucks but I think the Garapolo point is valid. I think Andy Dalton on the cheap would be a better option.
Shanahan gets the most out of his QBs and Garapolo has just been ok. He’s not worth the money.
With a pair of UDFAs and a Falcons castoff. Tell me again how drafting a running back #2 overall is a great idea.
Yup.
Someone linked to a Baltimore Ravens job posting for a QA guy yesterday. One of the example projects listed for the position was "Do running backs matter?"
But when you're stuck in the '80s, do you ask that question?
I would have thought that they had learned that lesson in 2008 when they had the best running game in football with a 4th round pick, a 7th round pick, and a Jets castoff.

At this very moment, the Niners trio has almost the exact same number of carries as Saquon had last season. The Niners trio has less yards and half as many rushing TDs as Saquon put up with the idiot coach and jackshit offensive line in 2018.

this is JG’s 19th in his career-a shade over one full season. SF is 16-2 in his starts. He’s not going anywhere and certainly not for Andy fucking Dalton.
Imagine the numbers a healthy Saquon would put up with a good coach Â

I shouldn't say half. Saquon had 11 while the Niners trio has 7.
Christ, they are really one of the luckiest teams I've ever seen...
Love Russ.. he might be the best QB in the NFL right now. So great. Wish we had him. Remember when people said they didnt want the Giants to get him.. lol
Saquon plays better. I'm sick of the excuses for him. Sure, he's a little banged up, but he also needs to play better. And people need to stop acting like he came back way too early from a high ankle sprain. He was out the standard amount of time, just like Tevon Coleman was.
His pass blocking is a disgrace. If he can't pass protect going forward, then the Giants have even bigger problems than any of us realize.
had the RB in the flat for the first but got greedy and picked off. SF gets the ball and drives for the score but the K botches it. Seahawks get it back but have to punt. The Niners run 3 inc pass plays (almost hitting the deep ball) but run almost no time off. The Hawks with no TOs go down the field with a huge scramble by Wilson. Could have spiked it and run another play but settle for a 42 yarder. First kick good but TO 49ers. Second kick good as OT expires.
Hell of a game and OT!
We are no where near this level, sadly. Ds flying around, good pass rushers, guys making plays, hard hitting. It was throwback to good football night.
from my NY Giants, this game reminded me of what I have been missing. What a pleasure to watch good, old fashioned, hard nosed football. I am an old dog, been watching Big Blue for over 60 years, but this season more than all the other awful years we have experienced has been unwatchable. The only way I can stand watching the bad coaching, the awful line play on offense, the pathetic defense is to DVR the game, wait a hour and a half, then use the fast forward button a lot. It's a lot better for my mental health, and the only risk is me throwing the remote right through my flat screen!
Just shows how far away we are from being a good team. These two teams are better then the Giants at every level except running back. Gettleman has built a horrible roster. Needs to be replaced.
Anyone notice that when Weston Richburg went out... Â
I'd give up anything to have that guy running our team. But damm he really screwed up that last possession. I know you want to play for the win, but when they get that ball back and Seattle has no timeouts left, you have to make sure at the very least you don't lose the game. A tie keeps them two games up in the division. At least run a play that gets the clock moving and maybe you end up in field goal range regardless but at the very least you secure the tie.
Really good game though. Can't say enough good things about Russell Wilson at this point. That offense has nothing outside of him.
At the end of overtime. Three passes, one a bomb, when Seattle had no TOs left. One run and they would have given the ball back to Seattle with under a minute.
How big was a tie for the Niners. They would have had a two game lead over Seattle. Now they only have a one game lead plus they lose on the tiebreaker.

Should have taken the sure tie. Seattle couldn't stop the clock. Go out with the tie and two game lead. Brutal lose.

that last series was brutally bad.

All he had to do was mix in 1 run instead of 3 straight passes and he almost certainly was guaranteed a tie with a chance at still winning it.
Brutal. Fuck both teams though.
It was a good game, but calling it a classic or some magnificent game is way over the top. There were tons of mistakes in the game.

...the O-line broke down (and their QB had a sack fumble) and when he was in there it played much better!
