This franchise sucks. Deossie has been a bad long snapper for 3 seasons. Why can’t they realize this
Agreed! He was a pro bowl kicker last year. The snaps have been awful. And for a decade now, we have devoted a roster spot to a long snapper. He was great at his job but no more.
I love how the staff gets tough with their place kicker. But their is no accountability for anyone who can't do their job. Free safety can't even run... Leave him alone. He was a coaches favorite from AZ.

Like I said, a couple snaps, I'm sure caused misses, and Riley has done an excellent job on a few others. But he has also just flat out missed a couple.
They did have a long snapper in this summer for a look see. DeOssie most definitely needs to be replaced next season.
Before they give up on Rosas they should have him kick from the center Â
of the field on XPs rather than from the hash mark
The first XP miss against the Lions he only hooked slightly but because he was lined up on the left hash, it missed just left.
He seems to be thinking about that miss and over-correcting. Miss against Dallas was off the right upright and then he also pushed the "long" XP against the Jets to the right.
As far as the snaps, only of the three missed XP kicks had a questionable snap, the one against Dallas.
The other bad XP snap was the one against the Jets that wasn't handled by Dixon and Rosas never attempted the kick.

Just a reminder that the Giants are 1 of 32 teams who dedicate a roster spot to a LS.
I'm fine giving him a little scare with this workout but I much prefer to keep Rosas than sign someone off the street. The guy has a ton of talent and we've seen firsthand how good he could be. Would be shortsighted and foolish to release a 24 yr old kicker with his talent just to have another team pick him up. Get his head right and he will be our kicker for the next decade.
De Ossie is the problem, not Rosas. His snaps have been off since the pre-season. Even if the holder gets the ball down on time a bad snap throws the kicker off his rhythm . I'm surprised Dixon has handled it as well as he has.

Look at the video I just posted. Where the hell is the problem with that snap????????
What stands out to me about that video (perfect snap & hold btw) is Rosas' lack of power. Ball is sputtering and didn't even get to the back wall. That's a 33 yard XP.
I also notice Shurmur hasn't attempted barely any long FGs this year. When he's inside the 40 he goes for it on 4th down. Rosas showed a very capable leg inside 60 last year.

43 yard XP after the OPI penalty on the two point attempt.
Hitting a bunch for a crap team with nothing to play for proves nothing.
Now he is collapsing and is another player regressing with this staff.
Bringing in kickers is a subtle hint that he can be replaced. No way he is cut right now.
Remember also that 1 FG and 1 XP miss were on bad snaps this year.

he showed that last year
So go to a sports shrink and get your head straight....
we have enough concerns as a team and holes. Kicker can't be another and now is...
Lol'd! love it!
Snap Looks Fine To Me
Anyone else seeing that? Also, you never seem him sprinting anywhere...not that kicker has to be sprint.....he just seems off and not 100%.

Something seems to be up w/his leg strength.
