to think DG should go to. What happened to culture? You trade up into the first to draft a guy with a known work ethic problem both off the field and apparently on it. Fucking brilliant. There is zero accountability with these coaches.
Fucker looks to the ref for a flag and just starts jogging instead of trying the tackle the WR that just toasted him. He is a disgrace to the defense, and I blame poor coaching for his lack of hustle.
Bakers performance vs the Cardinals was embarrassing and directly led to the loss. He needs to get his head out if his ass.
But the problem with having a head coach fighting for his job is that he will sacrifice the long term (message: if you don’t try hard on this team, you don’t play) for the short term (Baker has more natural talent than the alternative, so let’s start him again to try and eke out a win). I predict the Shurm will continue to start Baker.
This team is going nowhere this season so let the kid play. The only way to improve is with experience Jenkins should get bench so Beal can the playing.
to be fair there is 4 guys running at the same speed Â
Also, who is next up? exactly no one. Beal will be jumping in for Jenkins now.
Good coaches get the best out of their players and this staff doesn't give anyone confidence.
Every game the defense comes in unprepared to play a football game.
They have been down 14 points 4 times in the first half this season.
Who is game planning for this defense?
RE: This shit should be pinned, fucking inexcusable, and I'm starting Â

This is on Pat. He can't be stern and he knows it as it will result in more players quitting. This is the problem when you don't win.....the players don't respond. Pat will have him "get back to work in practice".
He has been awful this year. It’s not even debatable, despite some stubborn BBIers who claim otherwise. But the important thing is trying to get him to improve. That’s why you bench but then get him
Back out there
...Corey Webster taken at pick 45 who really sucked, until he didn't.
Corey Webster dropped because of injuries. He would have been a top ten pick. Way more talent and speed than Baker. Better attitude too. Corey never dogged it

In the thread I started people keep saying he's a rookie yada yada yada. That isn't the fucking point. Everyone can give effort, and trade up for a guy in the first with known work ethic issues, on and off the field, that had great tape, but had average at best measurables is fucking ponderous when you are spouting off about culture every chance you get. I was all about DG until the more I learned about Baker this week, including from SY who said there were whispers of this. So lets stop comparing him to guys that work hard.
Losing brings bad habits and lack of leadership on team make these types of rookies think nothing of it. I would bench him and tell him next time you give no effort on the play you are benched till next season
Gain nothing by doing so. He needs the experience.
There’s a lot to gain, you know like you better play your ass of or you don’t play. I don’t care when he was picked. Letting him thinkthis is ok is worse then him loafing it
This guy has shown it in several games. No hustle. No urgency to get to the ball. He’s playing like a veteran who’s packed it in and just getting one last paycheck.
Awful coverage combined with a weak effort. This guy is a first round rookie?
Fucker looks to the ref for a flag and just starts jogging instead of trying the tackle the WR that just toasted him. He is a disgrace to the defense, and I blame poor coaching for his lack of hustle.
The knock on Baker was his relatively poor 4.5+ speed. What makes you guys think he is not running as fast as he possibly can in that vid?
Clueless fan. Losing has gotten you soft and accepting of this type of effort
Gee, sorry to offend. Maybe I should genuflect and kiss the ring, eh? Where did you play/coach? All you do here is piss and moan...that's some "real" fan behavior.
can't be sussed out in the predraft process. He never loafed at Georgia? Didn't interview one person who said this was an issue before using a 1ST ROUND pick on him?
RE: I find it hard to believe that this kind of character defect Â

Especially when this GM correctly assessed that Eli Apple was a humongous loser and sent him packing. It's sounding like we went and got another one.
For allowing this to happen.. he was our 3rd pick.. there is no need to treat him differently.. bench his ass.. it's not like he is playing better than practice squad level player..
I honestly don’t know what the deal is with Baker Â
Watched a ton of UGA games during his career and that simply wasn’t his game.
Clearly the speed in NFL has taken him by surprise but the mental errors and lack of effort plays are all new. Not turning around on that play on Sunday when he was in perfect position just tells me he is winging it out there and not hearing/listening to fundamentals at this level.
The defensive leaders should let him know that is unacceptable. I doubt there is much leadership on the entire team. Everyone is a young player or a guy brought in through free agency/trade on the back end of their career.
Shurmur is just a soft coach with no balls to call out a rookie and bench him

He needs to sit for a half or a game

Corey Webster struggled his first few years but not for lack of hustle
Do not make excuses for this type of behavior. It's one thing to struggle in coverage but lack of hustle has no rookie or veteran attachment

It's time these players are held accountable
I don’t remember Webster ever giving subpar effort
There’s a lot to gain, you know like you better play your ass of or you don’t play. I don’t care when he was picked. Letting him thinkthis is ok is worse then him loafing it
At this point, I miss Elvis Patterson.
At this point I miss 2005/06 Corey Webster.

Who's making excuses? I'm just pointing out that things can change over time. Not for the propeller-beanie crowd on here, however.

He has time to fulfill that yet, but so far he's been an enormous disappointment.
He was in perfect postion on that PI in the end zone and he couldnt turn his head and swat at the ball?
how do we continue to draft CBs who cant turn and make a play on the ball. Its maddening
I’d bench him and play Ballatine and Beal, or even Love. It’s not a good sign to have an attitude even when you are playing like dogshit.
Especially when this GM correctly assessed that Eli Apple was a humongous loser and sent him packing. It's sounding like we went and got another one.

Ugh, this team is really broken...
This CB has talent. He showed it at Georgia in the SEC. He needs time to develop and a coaching staff that coaches.
The latter issue is most critical to his development.
I, for one believe Baker will ultimately be a terrific CB despite Shurmur and co. He is not Eli Apple. It is a question of when.
