Q: As you’re going through this break, what is the point of emphasis for you going forward?
A: To continue to improve. I think taking care of the ball is a big deal and something that I need to do better with. I think that’ll be a big thing. But I think just continue to improve, learning from the mistakes I’ve made.

Q: Are you frustrated by the lack of ball security on your part?
A: Yeah, absolutely. That’s a big deal and makes it a lot harder on our team, I’m certainly aware of that. I’m doing everything I can to correct it. I need to continue to focus on that and it needs to improve.

Q: Do you think you and this team can make some progress here in the remaining ball games?
A: Yeah, for sure. I think we still have an opportunity to finish strong and get back on track. I think that’s where everyone’s heads are right now, that’s what we’re focused on. We’ll use this bye to focus on those things, to address them and to come back ready to, like I said, finish strong.

Q: Will you put some of this away for a while on the weekend? Are you going to surf your computer and not look at it, are you going to get away from football for a few days?
A: Yeah, I’ll get a little bit of time to rest a little bit and kind of prepare for this final stretch. I’ll take a little bit of time, but I’ll also try to use it to get ahead and continue to focus on what we’re doing here.

Q: Will you go home?
A: I think so, yeah. I think I’ll head home.

Q: Have you been home since you’ve started?
A: I went to Duke (one) weekend, but I haven’t been to Charlotte.

Q: When you stepped in here, you had a pretty good situation with Mike Remmers and Nate Solder as your two tackles. If they are both out, you have more game experience than Eric Smith and Nick Gates. What can you do to help those two guys if they are your tackles going forward?
A: I think just communicating and being on the same page is big. I thought those guys stepped up and played well on Sunday for us. We have a lot of confidence in them. Just to communicate and be on the same page going into the game, I think we’ll feel confident with whoever is out there.

Q: Does it make you feel like you have to get rid of the ball a little quicker with those two guys?
A: Not necessarily. Like I said, those guys did a good job and I think in a more general sense I need to work on getting the ball out at times sooner. But I think those two guys played well.

Q: What about the positive stuff? You’re coming off four touchdown passes in a game. Can you build on some of the success you’ve had as well?
A: Yeah, I think so. I’m trying to, like I said, continue to improve. Obviously, you want to do what you’re doing well, continue to do that well and try to keep improving. We’ve had a lot of guys step up and make plays. My job is to continue to get them the ball and give them opportunities to make plays. We’ll keep doing that.

Q: What has helped you develop when you are coached by Pat Shurmur? What qualities does he have as a teacher and as a coach that have helped you develop and the communication skills that have helped you get to this point?
A: I think Coach Shurmur has done a ton for me in my growth and development. He’s obviously seen a lot. He’s been around football for a long time, so I think that, to me, helps just kind of hearing his experience, hearing his understanding. I think he’s been extremely patient with me and supportive of me. I’ve been up and down, I’ve played well at times and not so well at times. He’s continued to support me and continued to coach me hard and give me the points of emphasis or the things that I need to be looking at closer. I think that’s been a huge help for me. Like I said, his experience coaching quarterbacks, his experience coaching offense has been awesome for me. Just his support and patience with me, helping me grow and learn from my mistakes has been really big for me.
