Because they beat Porzingis? Whoopee. Unlike most of you, I don't bear him any ill will for wanting to escape this horror show.
Generally i care more about player development then chasing meaningless wins but in this particular instance, beating KP is satisfying so i dont have to sit and hear how great KP is and how big of a mistake the knicks made in trading him.
Things are bad enough around the knicks but the narrative that KP is a superstar is a bad one. The guy is probably the most overrated player in the league right now. Luka carries the team by himself while KP sits at the 3 point line and all the advanced metrics say they are a better team when he is off the court
with smith dotson knox portis mitch, portis and mitch played well next to each other and with portis, knox and dotson the floor was spread for the lob to mitch..
Smith is at his best when he is attacking in space
RE: I think the mavs are going to regret that contract to KP Â
Hes not a franchise player but hes being paid like 1
Can we at least slow down this talk of contracts always being so detrimental to a team? Look maybe KP fails to deliver in Dallas but Dallas is better with KP than without and he might be excellent for them. Franchise player? Ok, maybe he is maybe he isn’t but he got a double double tonight while blocking shots.
Everything is about the money now. We can’t even properly analyze a player’s worth anymore. This guy is overpaid and that guy is overpaid. The better question or debate is was the team better off with or without the player in question but instead every debate resorts to how overpaid the guy might be.

actually so far the mavs are better with him off the floor..
KP is a number 2, him and doncic will eventually become a very dynamic duo, but right doncic does it by himself
I think Frank will level off an be a really good backup PG in the NBA. He isn't a starter but he can close games and make a real impact with his defense.

again, missed tonight's game but from the box score it seems like the whole second unit was pretty solid tonight.
that Smith comes around well enough to either start, or be a very solid back-up. Smith with 8 assists and only 2 TOs was huge. We still need to if he can shoot at all, but he might. I would love it if he could start, and let Frank be an important back-up.
he was for the Knicks. He wanted no part of that game yesterday. His skills are unique and surrounded by the right players with 2 other stars he can be a big piece of a championship team. Dallas has one and it will never be enough. I know he's still knocking some rust off but that wasn't the issue.
He was aggressive but under control penetrating to the basket. Was active, if not great, on D. Really got teammates some good shots. Best pure PG performance the Knicks have gotten all year (not high bar, but encouraging).
Frank had foul trouble and his typical shooting woes but he was the only defender who was able to really affect Luka at all.
Randle was rugged but they really can't play him as the "point forward". Terrible with turnovers last night. They can't do this bit where they have him dribble penetrate. He's not LeBron.
RJ's scoring slump continues but he found ways to contribute with passes and really solid rebounds.
Morris' ability to score is impressive.
Fun game and the crowd was electric.
Also, shout out to Taj for being a calm vet presence out there Â
Smith was able to get into the paint and make good passes when there was a little traffic. Thus far I am surprised that he hasn’t shown the ability to break people down one on one, but running some pick n rolls for him wouldn’t hurt.
oh he is an amazing player
there was 1 second on the shot clock
i am sorry i attacked you, i shouldnt of wasnt fair
Indeed

Its alright thanks
It might not have been a horror show if he actually played in some damn games. Fuck him and his bitch ass brother.

Won't be long until KP wants out of there too.

KP again made it sound like there was more than just him wanting to leave..
Frank is the best defender in the league against pick and rolls..
Did you hear what he said postgame? apparently he told fizdale he is ready and understands what he has to do and has the confidence now to do it..
sonpostgame he was asked what does he have to do to take the nrxt step, he says he has to be a dog on the court...i wonder who has been in his ear
Couldn't watch the game (was on the road) but from the box score it looks like Smith was decent, really the first time this year.
