Heading to the game in South Bend this week. First time the teams have played while both ranked since 1978. Navy has a puncher's chance. Defense is sooooo much better this year.
Navy leads the nation in rushing, and QB Malcolm Perry is 5th in the nation in rushing yards per game with a QB efficiency rating (188) that would put him 5th in the nation but for not being ranked due to only 52 attempts. He is averaging over 26 yards per completion and over 13 yards per attempt.
Yet, they still have to play a near flawless game I imagine as the size, strength, talent gap is pretty sizeable.
Mids still have an outside chance at New Years Day six which would require wins over Notre Dame, home v SMU, and Army on Dec 14 in Philly.
Great year and a pretty cool team.
BTW, in the above, I didn't mention Navy also plays at Houston. 4-0 is pretty unlikely but that would be cool.
The D has been so much better this year.
