I don't think character and loyalty are the "be all and end all" requirements; but neither do I think someone who has the potential to divide a team (for whatever reason) should be in a key role.
...he's likely to lean west rather than east. And, like any veteran backup, he would probably prefer a team with less of a commitment to its starter. Then again, after such a long hiatus, he may have to leap at any opportunity that arises.
FWIW, I think the Saturday tryout looks like window-dressing. But the guy is one hell of an athlete. He might just turn some heads.
Unless you think he can possibly be your starter. He's not going to sign for vet min. We don't want a guy who wants to be a starter and paid accordingly.
behind a young player. He is almost certainly looking to get into a situation with a marginal starter or a guy who will retire soon so that he can be in the mix to start. His battle to get back into the NFL is really a half win if he gets back in only to hold a clipboard.
And the Giants are certainly not looking for a backup who will have more reporters at his locker after games than the starter.
Marcus Mariota.... I doubt if the Titans keep him, and he has the similar physical skills as DJ. He can step in and play in our Offense.
If not there are some good College QBs that can be developed and will be available on Day 3 of the draft. My suggestion would be someone like Texas QB Sam Ehlinger.

Yes to both of these ideas, but Mariota may be a bit expensive as a backup option. Not that it matters with our cap space but I'd expect him to get a better of than a guy like Keenum or Matt Barkley would (he's younger, a bit more upside)
...stems largely from a statement by John Elway that was either misleading or misconstrued. Denver was willing to take Kaepernick off the 49ers’ hands in 2016. The alleged collusion began the following year.
team. I suffered through missing a whole season when I was in Vietnam but if they were to bring in Colon Crap-O-Pick that would be the end of me being a fan!

The Ravens were very interested in signing Kaepernick in 2017 but his gf ripped Ray Lewis on twitter and that was enough to change their mind.
I do think he can play, but most teams will be too risk averse at the end of the day to give him a starter spot, and nobody will want the sideshow that would accompany giving him a backup spot.
Mariota seems like an interesting suggestion, but I have a feeling there will be a (misguided) starter's market for him.

Would never happen though. The Giants like their quarterbacks to sell Toyotas and Dunkin Donuts.
And the Giants are certainly not looking for a backup who will have more reporters at his locker after games than the starter.
Team - we will bring you in as a backup at 4 mill
Kaep - I want 20 mill
Team - ok, no deal
Kaep - COLLUSION!
Fuck this guy

How about if you don’t remember correctly?
Troll.

Troll? here's two articles I found in a minute saying Kaep was asking for too much. Typical of his genre
