So the plan today was to do a quick hardware fix with a total downtime of less that five minutes.
When they tried to bring the server back up, the main drive bit the big one. They attempted recovery, but were unsuccessful, so they had to recover from back up.
Looks like we lost pretty much the whole day's worth of data, so if you said anything particular intelligent, insightful or witty on BBI today, it's been lost to the ages.
Also, if you signed up for or activated an account today, that has also been lost. You'll need to do that again.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Now it’s gone forever

lol!
Now I forgot.
He's dead, Jim.
Murdering Bastid!
It seems to be random. But links to threads are of differing colors based on whether the thread's url has been clicked or not. That is normal behavior. But I am seeing newly created threads (not all) that give the indication that the links have been viewed by me even though I haven't. Not a big deal, just not a typical behavior.

This makes sense. Each thread has its own, unique ID. The ID numbers are generated sequentially. That's how they are accessed. You'll notice the URL for this thread says thread=590583
When we lost the day's worth of data, the thread number was set back to what it was during the last backup. So all threads created subsequent to the data loss were repeating thread numbers from that day. Since the thread numbers are the same, the URL is the same and your browser thinks you've visited the link before.

but some funky behavior is happening since the restore from back-up. Anyone else who is experiencing the same issues, please confirm the observation.

Thanks, Gary. I feel dumb for not putting 2 and 2 together.
