Just watching ESPN right now, and Max Kellerman is blaming Mason Rudolph for Myles Garrett's swinging of the helmet at Rudolph's head. And he's calling this reaction an overreaction to something that only rates 2-4 game suspension. I'm loving Stephen A and Louis Riddick lambasting him and Kellerman digging deeper.
I normally don't mind Kellerman, but dude is coming off like a moron this morning.
And yes, I'm watching ESPN...fail on me.
At least he admitted he was wrong, though I haven't heard him comment on DJ's most recent performances.
you can't talk about concern over concussions and player health and not react to this with an extreme penalty
Again, not sure why you are watching that trash.
Don't believe the film shows either one of these things about Rudolph as true.

But Garret, had a different part of the helmet hit Rudolph, on a certain part of the head, could have killed him.
There is no equating what Garret did to normal sorts rhubarbs, and any attempt to explain away or minimize what he did is missing the point.
There is no doubt in my opinion that he will be suspended for the remainder of the year and rightfully so.
Even when the Browns get a signature win, they screw it up, that s what undisciplined teams always do.
I actually commend Rudolph for being so feisty, stupid as it was.
It’s kinda of funny looking at the talking heads taking the unexpected sides on this. I won’t go there but it’s just funny.
Yeah, I don’t give a fuck what he thinks
These are actors playing out the lines they are given for entertainment purposes, not a forum for insightful discussion and debate.
For the life of me, I can't understand why people are entertained by it. And how it generates "buzz."
Anyone grilling Kellerman for this is just showing they are completely clueless, and don't comprehend what they are watching.

Staged or not he sounds like a absolute moron. He should and will get grilled for this.

Thank you. I am enlightened by your counsel.

did try to twist his helmet off when they were on the ground and then kicked Garrett in the nuts. They all played their part in that mess last night. Rudolph isn't innocent here, but obviously Garrett took it wayyyy too far.

I don't believe you've actually seen any footage then.
This came out of his mouth today.

How dare Rudolph try and defend himself.
Thank you. This is something nobody mentions. The game was completely decided he had mason wrapped up and could have easily stopped and let him go(Mathias kiwanuka did it). Instead, he spins him into the turf and falls on him. The ref threw his flag clearly for roughing the passer. That is what instigated this all.
That was my thought - I'm "working from home" today, so am watching their show (which I honestly have come to love) now so I can forward through commercials.
I have no idea how these shows are set up, but I imagine they have a preproduction meeting where they agree to each take a side. I like Maxie -- he's been my guy since getting into his excellent boxing commentary -- and I don't think this is his true position on the matter.

Lol. Guilty! I really like it when I'm working from home. It's like comfort food to be on in the background. And their takes are usually pretty reasonable - they are especially good on NBA.

He had his left hand caught underneath Garrett's facemask and used his right hand to leverage his other hand out. The only time he has his foot neat Garret's groin is after Garrett grabbed his facemask and he didn't kick him. The helmet thing maybe could go either way but he didn't kick him in the nuts.
Rudolph instigated. He should be fined, maybe suspended 1 game for his actions. That doesn't excuse Garrett's actions, which were beyond the pale and extremely dangerous, which should carry a heavy penalty. Said it in the other thread, Garrett shouldn't play again this season.
