But, this is why the argument that the Giants should have waited for 2020 to draft QB was always wrong. You can’t project a year out, it’s such a long time & so much can happen.
For anyone wanting to get a look at Andrew Thomas in action.
Thomas is getting abused so far doing his Ereck Flowers impression. Aloud a sack and several pressures. Didn't look so hot last time I saw him either getting beat by speed rushers.

I have never been enamored with him. Reaches too much and doesn't look very athletic as a LT. Maybe more of a RT or G.
Uh, Cutcliffe turned that program around before Jones arrived.
Cutcliffe, never heard of him. I mean c'mon, this is pretty substantially the same roster as last year and they're awful. Pretty obvious what the point was, even if it evades Skins central.
I hope the kid comes back, has a great career and never beats the Giants. He's been a gamer the past couple of years, but that's . fucked up injury. I'm sure surgerysports /medicine has advanced greatly since Bo Jackson's injury, but hope this isn't a career-ender for the kid.

Don’t waste your time. bw in dc hated the Jones pick, said he was a 3rd rounder and he will die on that hill no matter how much facts slap him in the face. He will NEVER warm up to Jones because he’d rather be “right”.

Same here.
They just said on the OU/Baylor game he also broke his nose and there's a possible hip fracture as well as the dislocation. Horrible news and hopefully as you said this isn't a career ending injury.
And Saban had Jones warmed up and ready to come in Â
Yup but he wanted him to get some practice in a two minute drive and kept him in. I can't blame Saban there and it's just really unfortunate it happened.
Latest report says they expect a full recovery. Who knows when but good to hear that at least.
RE: Should the Giants call Matt Rhule now or be professional and wait Â
Get hired and do great somewhere other than the Giants while Mara A d Tisch try to figure a out who is more clueless and either hold onto Shurmur or hire someone worse. And yes. I have absolutely no doubt that both those two have it in them to do worse.
who supports bringing Shurmur back next year is totally clueless. I know there are some on BBI who support that, let's just hope the owner does not. I wouldn't give the GM a chance to support it as I would fire him too, but under no circumstance can Pat Shurmur be the Giants coach in 2020

Giants and mara are likely to bring shurmur back. They want continuity. And, it wouldn't surprise me in the least that even after next yr, even if they finish again like 5-11 they'll extend him. Mara doesn't want a coach-a-year way of doing business. I think mara is satisfied with shurmur

Oh stop it. There's zero evidence that exists that says Mara will extend a coach who is a total loser. And there's not much evidence that exists that says he will bring Shurmur back next year. It's possible, but not likely.
John Mara has done a shit job recently, but where does this idea come from that mara is satisfied with shurmur? That's fucking ridiculous.
Mara fired McAdoo a year removed from the playoffs. Mara (and his father) fired Fassel a year removed from the playoffs.
The idea that the Giants will extend him even if they finish 5-11 in 2020 is close to the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on here
Thank you! So many posters here keep saying Shurmur is a lock to return based on Mara loyalty. There is NO evidence of this. If anything, Giant coaches recently haven’t had a super long leash aside from Coughlin (and he won 2 SB’s).
Hire Greg Roman to build a program revolving around his single wing-ish offense... We have a lot of the pieces to do it already.
Draft Jalen Hurts in round 3 to work in tandem (think Taysom Hill) with Jones to run the offense. Someone's gonna get a bargain when they draft Hurts. I like him better than anyone not named Burrow in this QB class.

They don’t have a 3rd round pick unless they trade for one
correction, 14-0 after 3:36

Ray Lucas always sounds so grouchy on radio no matter what's going on
At Georgia!
None of the receivers are getting separation.

QB choked. Defense evaporated. As usually is the case, the one halfway decent throw the QB made in the second half was dropped.

As for Hurts being an awful QB, the numbers for his college career say otherwise:
Passing: 65.5%, 9.1 YPA, 76/17
Rushing: 2959 yds, 38 TDs
The guy has a 36-3 record as a starting quarterback, has played in a million big games, and been a high character guy.
I must be missing something.
Godawful? Really?
He will need more polish but there some very good athletic attributes. Very, very tough and he can get vertical running.
