I just want him to bring in an established staff. I would look to raid the Cowboys staff once Garrett is fired. I would target both Marinelli and Kris Richard.
Bill Callahan would be my top choice for OL coach.
lets get an aggressive, motivating, winning head coach in here. we currently employ a potentially 17 and 48 loser. 17 and 48? "sorry ma'am I forgot to put your oil filter back on.....whoops." 17 and 48?....I thought you said kidney transplant.....not heart! whoops, my bad". 17 and 48?....."Did you say launch, or lunch?" 7 years of last place basement mold gets you acting like Richard Harris in the county of monte Cristo, but slightly more hopeless and desperate. Christmas list: new g.m.....new scouting, new head coach.....and especially....new, aggressive defense. cheers!

Now that would be a great scenario. And he has giants roots, get it done Mara!!!!!
Think Rhule will struggle in the NFL. I read a nice article about him in the Athletic where they shadow him as he preps for a game.
Seems like a nice enough guy but so much of what he does is rah rah college stuff. His big initiative was to hold more meetings and do more team building events so guys are around one a other and closer as a team. That's all well and good but that's not going to carry the same weight in the bigs.
I worry about his conference, his ability to attract quality coordinators, and the learning curve between college and pros. Give me someone with experience.

Maybe he just looked at the situation and came up with a plan to make it work. Doesn't mean he will do the same thing everywhere and to me is a nice change from a square peg round hole type of coach.
Look at what you have, and come up with what's needed to get the best out of what's there.
I think the fact he's had some pro experience as an assistant will be a big plus as he already has a head start on any learning curve.
Why would he want to coach a High School flag football team Â
is the guy I have been mentioning for years after he left the Giants to go to Temple. It felt very Coughlin-esque for the Giants to have an assistant take over as the head man of a college closer by and keep tabs on him (ie- Coughlin as WR coach taking over at Boston College).

Rhule turned down the Jets job because they wanted to select his assistants.
carries some qualities and exhibits some of what you want in what an NFL HC should be. Someone who can be an executive type, program building. Knows and has a little experience of each phase or side of the ball. But can identify where he needs help (brought in Texas coaches who knew the conference, knew the recruiting contacts and process). He empowered his coordinators to develop their philosophy and approaches but within his but also didn’t micromanage.
He did a good job understanding the issues he was facing with Baylor culturally and with lots of program deficits but not on talent.
I haven’t watched enough Baylor to get a feel for how he handles adjustments, in game coaching and other monitoring and decision making.
He did show that while he favors a pro style run based attack, that he’d adapt to his personnel and coaches to incorporate spread and RPO concepts.
Rhule has prior ties to this organization. So that disqualifies him in my eyes.
So does Belichick. That's a bizarre criterion.
I think I'm on the Rhule bandwagon.
Of course Belichick would be an exception. His way of building and developing a team speaks for itself.
Further, he'd have to wear both the HC and GM hat if he was here. And that would break the "Giants Way" model. It would be profoundly stupid to let anyone else have personnel decisions but him.
Look, it's not happening, so it's really a moot point.
It would appear Mara has done a terrible job finding the right solutions. We can talk all we want about who should be the next head coach but, take a look at the GM, he's a clown. All one needs to remember is this, well we didn't sign him to an extension just to trade him ha ha ha ha.
And then they traded him. This is the guy Mara has chosen to put this team together. This is year eight of the Giants run of bad football and counting. God only knows how many more are down the road. By the looks of things it could be quite a few.
The NFL is no longer the pinnacle of coaching. The NCAA is.
The money is better. If you are making the school money then you essentially have all the job security you would want. In most cases now a days you only need a .500 record to make a bowl now. Schools like coaches who get to bowls. Even smaller bowls. Bowls pay.
If you win and are at a smaller school, or in a smaller conference it is the bigger schools that will look to hire you.
Rhule is making 4.25 million a year at Baylor. If the program does well. That will only go up.

Isn't that precisely what Coughlin supposedly did to warm up to the players going into the 2007 season?
I wouldn't be so sure that it doesn't translate. Many players are in a form of suspended adolescence - I don't think you can just assume a different level of maturity based on typical age norms.

Agreed he's the best!
Yeah, but would the Giants be high on his? There is reason to doubt it.
The current coach had zero ties....

You’re right ... he’s already the coach of a college flag football team

He signed an extension until 2028 with Baylor
I think he is a top 5 paid coach now in college
Ya think the owernship would pay out his contract? NOPE
Nobody knows what provisions the guy has in the agreement for a buy out but seems highly unlikely
He did get his real start here in the NFL and then went to Temple..turned that shit show around
If he had the right staff around him, he could be a guy that young players seem to rally around.
