Useless info, on what’s been a terrible season for the Giants, but Daniel Jones has a shot at 28 Passing TDs this season. This would break a record currently held by Baker Mayfield of 27 Passing TDs as a rookie. He currently has 15, with 6 games to go. Jones has 9 in the last 3 games. So 13 in the last 6, isn’t unreachable. Not bad for kid, who’s selection the media questioned.
Jones started week 3. So If Jones finishes the season, he’d have 2 more quarters than Mayfield last year.

halftime of week 3....6 extra quarters to play than Jones.
thanks....for some reason I had week 4 in my head

These crop of receivers have turn more than one 5-yard Jones pass into long TDs.
Cool.
Obviously the fumbles are bad but other than that, where has he disappointed? To me he's playing at a higher level than most rookie QBs we've seen, and he doesnt have a whole lot of help, either. He makes excellent throws into small windows and doesnt have a habit of interceptions.

Jones play hasnt matched the box score production?

He’s seemed to learn from the interceptions he’s thrown as well.
The only person who seems to get a decent amount of separation is Slayton.
Seems pretty significant to me. Jones has been a very big bright spot in this season.
Russ Salzburg the other day coined a word in reference to a caller who constantly calls into the BBKL podcast to ridicule Jones, the word, “Eliitis
Post Eli s benching I ve been surprised to find how many here suffer from the same thing.
Eli was great, but objectively it seems to me Jones ‘ brings so much more potential to the position.
Him throwing 28 TD s would be a big deal
Because it’s not really winning games. Obviously not all on Jones, but the season has been terrible.

The corpse of Jimmy Graham gets wide separation no one within 5 yards of him if you call a seam hitch combo against a cover 2, instead I've never seen so many tightly contested catches with wco spacing routes against cover 2.
i agree. he certainly has flashed solid moments, even brilliant moments. But flashing moments in the NFL doesn't equal "will evolve into a franchise QB". Repeatability is what defines a franchise guy. DJ is not there yet and it is not clear he will take the next steps.
Not sure I'd agree with this. Slayton may be regarded by opposing defenses as our #3 threat, and thus assign inferior players to guard him or, in zone D, scheme accordingly. The logic goes back to the old BB quote "Don't let Cruz or Hicks beat us." So Manningham did.

Or the blocking. Our best receiver is a rookie. Tells you something.

That theory only holds water until you look at who is on the active gameplay roster other than golden tate.
His passing stats aren't bad, but he generates a lot of turnovers and has been sacked a lot, some of which are his fault for holding the ball too long.
If you want to be optimistic, "average" is pretty good for a rookie with no OL, no running game, and coming from the competition he's used to. He should also get better as he gets used to the NFL. But that's not a given.
