Shurmur expressed optimism that the players in the concussion protocol, including Sterling Shepard, will be cleared this week. Evan Engram is out of the walking boot but no real update on his status for Sunday.

Evan Engram said he got a 2-4 week diagnosis for his foot sprain. Today is two weeks. He thinks he’s ahead of schedule and could be ready for this week.

It's really time to start looking for a new TE this offseason.
Check out this big mofo.

Not only would he look great in blue, but his name would drive Eric nuts.
Can he block?
Could he be any worse than the TE's we have?
Great question. He looks the part but let's be honest he scored 5 Td's on the same route in those highlights, and 3 looked to be against the same team.
If he is available in rounds 4 or 5 I'd be happy with the selection.

Hey, if it works, keep doing it, lol.

Right now CBS has him ranked as their 3rd best TE, #70 in their top 100. What's that, late 3rd, early 4th? Naturally that could change after the season, the Combine, Pro Days...you know the drill. I really don't know much about him, but watching him run reminded me of a line from Rocky 3, when Rocky says to Hulk Hogan, "Hey, you move pretty fast for a big guy."

This is part of the problem with Shurmur being on the hot seat. There is no reason why Nick Gates shouldn't remain the starting RT the rest of the season but Shurmur is afraid to lose his job and will go with the veteran who won't be here next season over the promising 2nd year player.

Still no Evan Engram (foot) at practice Monday. He had expressed optimism about returning this week. This isn’t promising. #Giants
I think he should probably sit the rest of the season and at best try again next season - though I wouldn't blame him if he retired.
Prior to his injuries, I always felt Engram would be good in the Dallas Clark type role when he was with the Colts.
His injury history is very concerning going towards the future.
Check out this big mofo.
