Mock has us landing Chase Young...

Isn't he a 4-3 End though? Well whatever happens we are in a prime spot to trade down for teams looking for a QB.
Please

Please let this happen.
You do not pass on taking Young
Jay on the Island : 11/18/2019 8:55 am : link
IMO he can play 3-4 OLB. We don’t know if the Giants are keeping the 3-4 scheme next season as it’s likely that Bettcher is out. Either way you take Young.
Hire Chase Young
M.S. : 11/18/2019 8:56 am : link

Fire James Bettcher.
Not sure about Washington....
nzyme : 11/18/2019 9:01 am : link
Do you think they pick a tackle and pass up Chase Young???
Young
Archer : 11/18/2019 9:01 am : link
Young would be great.
However, I doubt that Washington takes Thomas in lieu of Young.

It is way too early to predict the draft.
I believe that there will be players that move up and those that fall.

I believe that Wirf, Espensa, Hebert, will be rising.

Young is 1a and Espensa is 1b.
Sign..

With someone that talented

scheme won't really matter much
Young could play either
jeff57 : 11/18/2019 9:19 am : link
Players like Clowney and Chandler Jones have gone back and forth.

Washington may end up taking a QB
I do believe the Giants have a shot if they pick 3-4
Ben in Tampa : 11/18/2019 9:24 am : link
The Bengals and Dolphins are going QB.

My gut tells me the Redskins have to draft an OT. That would leave Giants with Young.

If the Redskins draft young, we take the tackle.
It's nice to think Washington will take a QB
ShockNRoll : 11/18/2019 9:25 am : link
but I don't think they'll give up on Haskins after not even a half a year of being a starter, unless he really plays awful down the stretch and makes no progress. I don't think Haskins is very good, but ownership has not changed, I can't see them giving up on Haskins just yet. I believe they'll take Young or Thomas, not a QB. If the Giants wind up with the guy the Redskins don't take, that would be excellent as both seem to be immediate impact players.
If you have a shot at a player like Young....

don't see Washington passing on Young for Thomas.
My pants would shrink if this happened
Capt. Don : 11/18/2019 9:29 am : link
But it's hard to take this person seriously when they have the Jets taking LSU's Jerry Jeudy.
I'd be happy with Young or Thomas
mikeinbloomfield : 11/18/2019 9:33 am : link
That's the luxury of holes all over the roster! Drafting is easy because the BPA / position argument doesn't matter.

If The Skins Are at 2
Jim in Tampa : 11/18/2019 9:41 am : link
They either take Young (if he doesn't go 1) or they trade down with a team that is hot for Young or a QB and they still get their OT. No way they stay at 2 AND take an OT.
If the Skins Snatch YOung before Giants
LTIsTheGreatest : 11/18/2019 9:46 am : link
do the Giants then trade down to try and stock up on picks? Including reacquire the 3rd round pick we lost in the Leonard Williams trade?
You can purchase pass rush
SleepyOwl : 11/18/2019 9:55 am : link
You can’t purchase Franchise Left Tackle.... Tunsil netted the Dolphins 2 first rounders conversely the Seahawks acquired Clowney for a third... granted there were some moving pieces and contractual considerations but still that puts in perspective the priority teams place on offensive linemen versus defensive linemen. It seems as though every off season we see quality pass rushers moving while the same can’t be said about quality offensive linemen (see Trent Williams.) All that to say if a superstar offensive linemen drops to the Giants DG needs to snatch and run.
There is a gap between Young and Thomas
Biteymax22 : 11/18/2019 9:58 am : link
Despite what's going on with Williams, and the fact they have Kerrigan and Sweat (1st rounder this year), Washington would be total fools to not draft Chase Young at 2.

Young is the best player in the draft, period.

Agreed. Young would also get the fans excited again, even if the team is poor.

This +1,000,000. You don't pass on top tier talent because you don't see how he would fit a scheme that isn't working. You bring him in and adjust the scheme to free him up to do what he does best.

Haskins Was Snyder’s Pick
Samiam : 11/18/2019 10:57 am : link
He might want to build the OL to make Haskins look good. Plus they have Flowers starting . They need OL help badly

I think they do though.

Trent Williams will be gone next year and they have to protect their investment Haskins or else it will be Bob Griff all over again.
Wash
mdthedream : 11/18/2019 11:06 am : link
could trade back to a team looking for QB OR Young.
You take Young if he's there
Jim in Forest Hills : 11/18/2019 11:08 am : link
unlikely he will be though, he's likely going #1 overall, latest #2. Giants will win another game or 2.

If I was a top 5 NFL LT, I would ask for an exorbitant amount of $$$, franchise QB level. Basically point to Solder's contract and how absurd it is to pay just some incrementally better contract.

Having said that, I would only take a Pace/Ogden level LT prospect over Young.
Maybe Wash does NOT get the #2 pick
Stan in LA : 11/18/2019 1:00 pm : link
Ever think about that?
What was our scheme before
Bubba : 11/18/2019 1:04 pm : link
we drafted LT? It can be figured out after the fact.
Don’t overthink the scheme

This kid is a game wrecking football player. You take him and never look back.
Chase
Gruber : 11/18/2019 1:45 pm : link
To land Chase Young we need the #2 pick behind the Bengals and ahead of the Redskins and to achieve that we need to lose to both the Redskins and Miami, because looking at Washington's schedule I can't see another victory for them other than against NY.

Unfortunately Jim, your wise words here are TRUTH....no way is the Georgia boy or ant tackle picked 2. I don’t see that put happening at all. We pretty much have to be picking 2 and that ain’t happening with us winning 4 games.

Unless Washington is open to trading back to say 4-6 with a team wanting a QB at 2.

Interesting scenario....Washington at 2 trading down....but it would have to someone who is top 6-8 because I don’t think they would want to move down too far to make their first selection.

But, if Chase Young is as good as many are saying, then they probably don’t trade out. THINK WHAT BOSA HAS DONE TO SF.
