Saw this article and watched the video(I didn't watch much of that game). I was cringing as the OL seems to be silently pissed off at the exchange. Haskins has a point, as do most QB's who get hit as much as him. But calling them out on the sideline in front of a camera in your second start as a pro? The optics are bad and its not a good way to 'earn their trust' as he said.

Hail to the Redskins!
I know. I go back and forth though. I mean when the line was getting Eli crushed year after year I wanted him to call out Pugh, Westburg, Flowers, and even Solder. but nope mums the word. Not sure if Jones will but doesn't seem to be too different from eli (though he shows more passion at times during the game than Eli ever did). But if you're one of those lineman and he does that too you, wouldn't you consider pulling the 'ole' a little more than you currently are?
If Haskins doesn't know what he needs to do to help his line, then he's not understand where the rush is coming from. At some point, you need to become a student of the game and can't rely on athletic skill
Moses didn't seem upset at all.
Eli never called out the offenive line even as they were destroying his career. Maybe Haskins is on to something.
There's a difference. By many accounts, Haskins has been slow to grasp the offense and has not worked particularfly hard. So the OL is probably thinking "yeah, we have an idea. Learn the offense."
Well.....then F them. Whether they like it or not, the guy is the starting QB for the rest of the season. A QB's job is to lead, right? Seems to me thats what he is trying to do. Im no fan of his, although im not a hater either, but damn, is he just supposed to sit back there and get killed without trying to do anything within his means to fix the situation? This kid can win for losing in that situation down there. Ive seen a ton of negative related to him so far, but not this.
Ha! Was thinking the same thing.
Especially because some people here act like Flowers has played well this year.
I don't see anything wrong with this, and arguably it's a good thing for a young QB to do. Simms supposedly started yelling at his linemen from his very first start. As long as the beef is legitimate, it's fine to voice it. But Haskins is going to have to speed up his internal clock A LOT. That's what he can do to help them.
I dunno Dan. I have a feeling that, if that were the case, some here, and in the NY media (shocking, I know) would completely disagree and go negative. Probably with comments like, “See, can’t handle NY.” , “What’s he done in this league to think he can do that?”, etc.
That said, I couldn’t be happier that the Redskins continue to show they’re a dumpster fire of an organization that refuses to be put out. May Snyder own that team forever.
This basically. They've mailed it in.
Chase Young is the type of talent that can transform a defense. Take a look at what Nick Bosa has done for the 49ers. I think Young is a better talent as well. I'm not suggesting that he is the sole reason the 49'ers defense is so good but he certainly elevated the entire defense.
You put Chase Young at OLB behind Leonard Williams or Dexter Lawrence and he will wreak havoc. Young would make the defensive linemen's lives easier as well as whoever is starting opposite him.
This offseason I want the Giants to fix the offensive line more than anything. With that said Young is the best player in the draft and the Giants would be very fortunate to land him.
We all know from past experience that a great pass rush makes the defensive backs look much better. If the Giants land Young and add a good FS and a compliment to Connelly at ILB then this defense could be a top 10 unit.
Yeah I’m sure jones calling out his OL like that would go over well here.
But any fan base would likely make too much out of this.
What the Redskins did to him is deplorable.
Not saying calling out in public is right or that Haskins is doing that, just that it needs to be done at times.
I feel like this could be one of those “don’t tell us to do a better job when you don’t do the work” type of deals. Just my opinion. Calling them out isn’t the problem but calling them out when you’re not doing your job is maybe hard for them to deal with.

He's asking what he can do to be better. The telling thing is the OL indifference to him.

I didn't watch the game, but I would venture to say he's got to get used to not having a lot of time in the pocket, that's life in the NFL. To say that the offensive line is mailing it in, as opposed to Haskins isn't getting rid of the ball quick enough, just seems way off to me.

I watched a lot of the game and it looked to me like after getting hit some early on,Haskins was going to his first read almost automatically and just got rid of the ball even if the throws were short of getting a needed first down.
Granted Williams' D can confuse even veteran QB's but Haskins looked to me like he was having trouble moving through his progressions or even bothering to do so on some plays as the game wore on.
