live. UFB. It all seemed to have simmered down until that jackass threw a drink on Artest.
I watched the game live too. I remember my 9th grade class went to some place in upstate NY, but I was sick so I stayed home and watched this shitshow.
“Ron Artest has a look in his eye that’s very scary right now...”
Suspensions:
Artest - 86 Games
Stephen Jackson - 30 Games
Jermaine O'Neal - 15 Games
Ben Wallace - 6 Games
Anthony Johnson - 5 Games
Various others - 1 game
If that happened in 2019, would any of them ever play again?
I used to love the NBA up until this point. I never followed one team in particular but I did pull for the Knicks in 94 and 99 and did the same with the Nets in 02 and 03. I went to about 10 Net games a year during the Jason Kidd years. I don't know, I remember being so completely shocked at the time this happened. This was before YouTube so I just watched Sportscenter over and over to comprehend all the nonsense that went down. Bizarre night.
I slowly started to not even watch the playoffs anymore, I'll watch game 6 or 7 of the NBA finals, if it gets that close. I don't know necessarily if I was completely turned off with the NBA because of this incident, but wow.

Artest, Jackson and O'Neal would get lifetime bans. Was there any long-term damage down to any of the fans that were beat up?
