Zeke's Alibi : 11/19/2019 2:31 pm
This is a guy I think may skyrocket up draft boards or greatly outperform his predicated draft slot come April. His backstory is pretty crazy, came here from Nigeria to play basketball, decided to try football after seeing it for the first time in high school. Played one year on defense I believe and became a recruiting sensation. This is the type of guy that can end up being a steal. Smart, hard worker, needs technique work but this isn't an Erik Flowers situation, or even a normal situation. He intrigues me a lot more than some of the guys that are being bandied about in the top 15.

This is classic case of a guy you are taking based on projection, but his unique backstory tells me this could end up being a steal. Classic late bloomer. If he is there with our second round pick I'd jump at the chance to take him. I think the top defensive prospects in this draft are a lot better than some of the top tackles personally. Georgia's OT just seems so lumbering and I think there is a good chance he may bust at OT in the NFL.
Andrew Thomas is the top OT in this Draft, but there are certainly
Anakim : 11/19/2019 2:39 pm : link
some intriguing guys:

PTW, as you mentioned
Austin Jackson of USC
Josh Jones of Houston
Jed Wills and Alex Leatherwood of Alabama
Tristan Wirfs and Alaric Jackson of Iowa
Mekhi Becton of Louisville
Possibly Ezra Cleveland of Boise State

And if durability wasn't an issue, Trey Adams and Walker Little
He is literally a Nigerian Prince?

I don't think there will ever be that blue chip

offensive tackle ever again, because of the way offenses are set up. Just about every team is playing an up tempo, passing offense that puts a lot of pressure on the Offensive Tackles. Makes it hard for them to shine, and puts a big spotlight on their mistakes.
PTW

Has anyone seen him play?
I have read diverse opinions of his game

I've seen Auburn 4/5 times this year, liked what I saw, but their offense it's hard to evaluate OT play.
Wirf and Little
Archer : 11/19/2019 3:33 pm : link
Of the Ots mentioned Wirf and Little look the most athletic
They are both strong , flexible, have quick feet

Wirf is an incredible athlete who has set power lifting records and it is said he jumped over 36”

Thomas, Sy' was watching and thought Thomas was having a bad day.
Somebody mention Wangho and Sy' sadi he looked pretty good. I'm adlibbing here, but that was the gist of the convo...
If Walker Little falls to the kid to late 20’s
Jay on the Island : 11/19/2019 4:10 pm : link
The Giants would be wise to trade up for him if they don’t go OT with their first pick. Little would have been a top 10 pick had it not been for the knee injury. If his knee checks out he could be a steal.

I read that he is expected to be ready for training camp. If the Giants add a RT in FA like Jack Conklin then they would be set at both tackle spots for 5+ years. Nick Gates could be the swing tackle while also being groomed to eventually replace Zeitler at RG in 2-3 years.
He is a very interesting player.
Giantz_comeback : 11/19/2019 4:21 pm : link
But hope with the 63+ mill we will have we will get at least one vet OL too.

I think there are a ton of tools to work with there. Him Wirfs and Thomas are my top 3.

This might change post combine and further evaluation, but right Dont know if I'd pick them if I'm all the way in the top 3 or 4 but 6-10 range absolutely.
He is still in the running

No shit, I guess the media is a little slow as usual. I've seen him mostly between 25-50 in overall prospects.
Good call Zeke...

You know who stood out for me in that Georgia-Auburn game? The G for Georgia, Kindley. He's got some serious skills. I think he may be the best OL in the draft.
I'm on the Wirfs bandwagon right now.

If we can't get Chase Young, I'd be very happy with him.
Speaking of great offensive lineman whats happening with Biadasz?
Zeke's Alibi : 11/19/2019 6:20 pm : link
I see him dropping everywhere. Haven't seen him play in a month, but he didn't stick out to me the handful of times I watches him play. But I guess its hard to be noticed when you are on the field with Jonathan Taylor. When I saw early in the season I was shocked he was projected late first second round pick.

Does he have a JPP vibe to you? Very late to football but extremely toolsy, good to great size measurables and could buck the learning curve a bit in terms of developing quickly?

Wirfs may not declare. Apparently school and graduating are very important to him.

If he comes out - he may be a 1st round OG

Not really. JPP was a tools guy that made people dream of upside.

Prince has more skill set and technique + marks, which isn't common for a guy that hasn't played long. If anything, his tools are average to above average. Skill set though, he has it.

What do you think about Josh Jones of Houston and the Alabama guys? Could Jed Wills be a potential first rounder?

Forgot about Sam Cosmi of Texas, but he's a RS Soph.

Texas (the state) has some appealing OTs: Cosmi, Jones of Houston, Terrence Steele of Texas Tech

Wow even more impressive. Someone picking up technique that quickly is pretty rare.

Jones I'm not too high on. Developmental guy - a lot of lower body work needs to be done.

Leatherwood still looks like a James Carpenter type guard to me. But he has exceeded expectations at LT - not sure that is his best pro fit.

Willis reminds me of Cody Ford. A lot of quality tape - really good power. But mental lapses and gets sloppy. 1st round I'm not there yet.

I feel like all of the recent Wisconsin OL are severely underrated. Yet all they do is come into the league and produce with a solid starter floor and all-pro upside. Hell Edwards started for the Rams the other night and looked good. He was a 5th round pick last year.

If Biadasz is there in the 2nd you run to the podium and don’t look back. I’d even take him in the first after a trade down. These Wisconsin guys come in and produce right out of the gate with a ton of upside despite knocks on athleticism or injury history.

Or we could hire Joe Rudolph, the OL coach for the Badgers... ;)
