4-14 FG. 4 rebounds -20 in plus minus In 23 minutes

Starting where he left off. No defense and shooting too much

He had 5 points in the 1st.

I watched the first quarter on NBA TV, but then had to do family stuff.

Anyways, I wish him well. I think Melo has become criminally underrated at this point.
Also 5 fouls and 5 turnovers

in those 24 minutes as Blazers lose to NO.

Baffles me why any GM would think this was a good idea. Looked up Neil Olshey's bio and see he went to college in Syracuse (LeMoyne).

Maybe he developed an attachment to the local big college team and has a soft spot for Carmelo.

That's all I got.

I would be stunned

if it turns out much better than this consistently. I thought he was overrated when he was actually scoring a lot. Now he’s a complete waste. -20 +/- is not surprising because he never has and never will play defense effectively and cannot and will not move the ball.
that team looks awful
hitdog42 : 11/20/2019 7:28 am : link
they had too much turnover, just like the nets, and results are the same.
whiteside is horrible at basketball. they miss nurkic massively.
Melo was not awful for his first game back- he was not impactful but i mean he has not played in a year lol. I know people are axed to hate him despite him leading the knicks to their only relevant season in 15 years, but give me a break

Melo does not play winning basketball

4-14 from the field and no defense is who Melo is...
He is done.

Time to move on.
Trading Danilo Gallinari for Melo ranks as one of the biggest
GeofromNJ : 11/20/2019 12:57 pm : link
mistakes in a long list of Knicks mistakes. Pass the ball to Melo and watch the offense come to a complete standstill.
Honestly thought he was out of the NBA
trueblueinpw : 11/20/2019 1:18 pm : link
Probably should be. There’s someone here that dubbed him a “fake NBA superstar” and I always thought that captured Melo’s career. Not trying to be a dick or anything, just seems likes Melos always been a guy that would rack up a lot of points and not too many wins.
WATCHED MELO

since he was at 'Cuse, as I'm UCONN fan. Very talented, but always gave a lazy optic; and always had that 'CHUMP' gene.

A statistical 'compiler', he NEVER made anyone better on any team since he could dribble. Just sayin.

I always figured he would be toxic to any NBA team chemsitry.

Bingo.
